Whileyou and your partner are playingthe gameSplit Fiction, you will be able to experience a lot of different interesting stories and powers.

Depending on which one of the chapters or side stories you’re in, you will get to do some pretty interesting things that can either enhance the game or let you annoy your partner, which can be just as rewarding sometimes.

Split Fiction Best Main Levels

The genre mixups are crazy in here.

When you’re in Mio’s stories, you will find that your power-ups are pretty cool and futuristic, such as being cyber ninjas or getting the ability to use jetpacks, which can be a lot of fun.

Zoe’s stories are more fantastical, giving you power-ups that relate more to fantasy novels, such as flying dragons or shapeshifting.

Split Fiction Best Side Stories

This means that the two give you two completely different experiences based on whose story you’re in. Here are some of the best power-ups you can find in the entire game.

7Blaster Guns

Great For Annoying Your Partner

One of my personal favorite power-ups during the entire game was when we were given guns in theFinal Dawn chapter. While this is an extremely stereotypical power-up for a sci-fi chapter, it is still pretty fun.

The moment I realized I could shoot my blaster or throw a shield-blasting grenade,I constantly annoyed my best friend just because I could, which is one reason I found this power-up so fun.

However, considering the fact that this is such a common power-up and something that you would expect to see, I feel like it isn’t as fun as some of the other ones the game offers. But, if you want to be annoying like me, you will probably find this power-up fun.

6Write Your Own Story

Rewrite The Narrative Of A Prince

Inthe Final Dawn chapter, one of the last side stories that Mio and Zoe will come across is titled Notebook. In it, they will be transported to Zoe’s old notebook, where they will need to work together to save a prince.

While there aren’t any groundbreaking power-ups in this side story, the girls do get the opportunity to create their own narrative of sorts, which makes this an extremely fun and engaging storyline.

A short and sweet side adventure never hurt anybody.

You and your partner can decide what happens in the story, and there are some pretty outrageous things you can decide. For instance, you can fight a giant crab to save the prince. This power-up is whatever you decide to make of it.

5Cyber Ninjas

The Best Of Both Worlds

With games such asCyber Punk 2077andGhostrunner 2,it comes as no surprise that, when looking at the sci-fi portion of the game, Hazelight Studios decided to add a level that is reminiscent of the two games.

DuringNeon Revenge, Zoe will have a Gravity Whip, which allows her to manipulate the surrounding area (and complete theRose’s Best Friend Trophy). Meanwhile, Mio gets a katana, enabling her to destroy objects and defy gravity.

What makes these power-ups so fun is that they complement each other so well.Zoe’s Gravity Whip allows her to manipulate gravity while Mio is able to defy itand change her orientation while exploring the world.

4Shapeshifting Powers

Everyone Wants To Be An Animal

During their adventure to stop the evil Ice King in theHopes of Springchapter, Zoe and Mio will be able to take on shapeshifting powers, which can be a blast for you and your partner.

Zoe will be able to shift into a tree-like being that can control the nature around it as well as a fairy who can fly around. Mio can shapeshift into a monkey with incredible strength or an adorable sea otter that swims underwater.

Josef Fares made another banger.

One of the cool things about this power-up is that it opens the door for some interesting easter eggs. For example, Zoe’s two shapes are reminiscent of Marvel’s Groot and Tinkerbell.

Additionally, Mio’s ape has moments where it looks like Donkey Kong, giving you and your partner something to laugh about.

3Spirit Animals

Be Guided By Adorable Animals

One of the last chapters in the game is called The Hollow, a place deep inside Zoe’s mind that has been abandoned for far too long. You’ll have to work together in order to escape this desolate world.

This chapter has a pretty cool power-up becausethe girls get their own spirit animals, and each one is perfect for the characters. Mio gets a golden owl that can help her control light while Zoe gets a blue catfish that helps her move objects.

What makes these power-ups so cool is that it goes so well with the entire idea of this section of the game. At this point, you’re deep into the subconscious of Zoe, and it would make sense that she has a spirit animal to guide her out of the darkness that is The Hollow.

2Magical Witch Powers

Pretend You’re At Hogwarts

The Moon Market side storywas one of my favorites in the game, and it can be found in the Final Dawn portion of the game. In it, Zoe and Mio find themselves in a very magical and whimsical little village full of magic.

There are several various power-ups players can get for this section of the game. The beauty of this side story is thatyou can use magic to do whatever you want. You can race your friend on a snail, or even turn them into a balloon.

The main reason the magic powers are such a great power-up is because they give you a break from everything, allowing you and your partner to sit there and have some fun with each other.

1Raising Dragons

Do I Even Need To Say More?

The Rise of the Dragon Realmwas one of my favorite chapters of the game, and for good reason. The power-ups that Zoe and Mio get are pretty cool and are the perfect example of what players would expect from a fantasy game.

To begin with, your dragon will start in an egg, and you will need to work to raise the dragon. Along the way, each dragon has its own unique abilities, like Mio’s, which can glide long distances, basically allowing you to fly with the dragon.

Additionally,Mio’s dragon shoots acid, which is a lot cooler than flames. While all this is happening, Zoe’s dragon can roll around and climb up surfaces covered in ivy, making it a pretty interesting power-up.
