Horikoshi revealed Mayuri Kurotsuchi as his favorite character from the famous Bleach series. He also mentions that he requested Kubo to draw a Mayuri sketch while asking for his autograph. To this, Kubo added that many readers viewed Mayuri as an evil character because of his complex character. However, he shares he never intended to portray any 13 Court Guard Squads as the bad guys.
