Solo Levelingwas one of the most anticipated manga of 2024. As soon as the manhwa ended, people started to speculate surrounding the release of the anime. But there was no news of it coming out anytime soon. Ultimately, it premiered on June 13, 2025, and broke the internet. Everything from A to Z about the manhwa is top tier.

But after watching a few episodes, the fans were quick to notice major changes in the anime that were not present in the manhwa. While the plot and the characters remained the same, it was the relationship build-up between the protagonists, SungJin-Woo and Cha Hae-in, that had a different approach than the novel. The fans were happy with the changes and applauded the effort.
Sung Jin-Woo and Cha Hae-in Will Have More Depth In Their Relationship
In theSolo Levelingmanhwa, Cha Hae-in was introduced much later. Initially, the story was fully focused on Sung Jin-Woo. After Sung Jin-Woo reached a considerably high level, Cha Hae-in was introduced into the story. She was an S-Rank Hunter and the Vice-Guild Master of the Hunters Guild. It was clear that something was going on between them and gave birth to their romance, but in overall it lacked depth.
Solo Leveling Episode 5 Surpasses All Expectations, Removes Every Complaint Fans Proposed
If you’re a manhwa/novel reader for Solo Leveling, you know how important these two are. It’s very clever of the anime to use Cha Hae-in to contrast what’s happening with Sung Jinwoo in the C rank dungeon. It’s both hype and does justice to their characters' storytelling.pic.twitter.com/wHapJyh7HC
There was no proper introduction to their relationship, and whatever was there was scattered. There was a difference in contrast. But it was changed in the anime. As soon asSolo Levelingpremiered, the anime introduced Cha Hae-in. While their relationship is yet to grow into something big, there is a proper introduction to her character, which was lacking in theSolo Levelingmanhwa.

By the looks of it, they will have a better chemistry than the manhwa. Moreover, the newly added extra scenes make their relationship wholesome. Even though she is not a flat character, the story makes her look as if she lacked depth. But with the corrections, theSolo Levelinganime could become a better version of the manhwa.

Solo LevelingIs Winning Hearts At Every Step
Solo Levelingwas a much-anticipated anime, and it delivered beyond everyone’s expectations. The journey ofSung Jin-Woofrom the weakest of all to becoming the world’s greatest hunter has already won millions of hearts. What attracted them more is the fact that they are correcting the manhwa with several newly added scenes of Cha Hae-in.
People who have read the manhwa will know Sung Jin-Woo and Cha Hae-in would have a child together. Whenever there is proper romance in an anime, the two characters involved will have a lot of depth. But inSolo Leveling, the story is solely based on Sung Jin-Woo, which puts his love interest as a secondary character lacking depth.

Solo Leveling’s Ending: Anime Fans Are Not Ready For the Chaotic Finale of Solo Leveling
Often, manga does a better job of portraying characters, but inSolo Leveling’s case, it is the opposite. At the end of the day seeing such a great story being adapted on the screen is a treat. On top of that, the story will be getting a makeover in the area where it lacked depth. So, fans should be ready for more action-packed and romance-packed surprises for the fans in the future.
