There’s something nostalgic aboutThe Vampire Diaries, and more than its eight-season run of supernatural drama and thrilling romance, the characters were also iconic. Nina Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert, has one unforgettable moment that almost ended her career.

Regardless, the actress didn’t feel too bad about it as she looked back on how her early days in the show were full of exciting things, mainly first-time experiences. Well, playing the love interest of two handsome vampires couldn’t be more exhilarating!

In her conversation withThe Hollywood Reporterin 2015, she recalled a frightening incident where she was with fellow actress Kat Graham, who played Bonnie Bennett, and filming a scene that involved driving. According to Dobrev, Graham wasn’t the best person to call to drive you around for whatever reason.

I remember the first day on set, I was with Kat Graham, we were shooting in a car, driving around, and she was the worst driver. I was terrified for my life.
She didn’t elaborate on what exactly happened while filming that scene, but Dobrev wasn’t too fazed about it. The Canadian star said that if anything had happened at the time, it would have happened with a smile on her face because, despite the terrible driving, they were both laughing on set.

Dobrev also mentioned how she was both nervous and excited at the same time becausethere was no certainty that the show would be picked upor become successful. In the end, she loved that feeling of going into the unknown.
