RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventuresfrom Nvizzio Creations and Atari is releasing in North Americanext week. Before it’s release, DualShockers was able to talk with Mark Perloff, Senior Producer at Atari, about the game. WhileRollerCoaster Tycoon Adventuresseemed like it would be a full product at launch, DualShockers was still curious if Atari had any plans to implement microtransactions or release expansions for the game in the future.

Fortunately, Atari was able to quickly quell any fears that microtransactions would find their way into the game. Mark Perloff consistently describedRollerCoaster Tycoon Adventuresas a “premium game” and responded to the microtransactions inquiry with a blunt “No microtransactions. This is a premium game, through-and-through.” This was probably a smart decisionconsidering the pushbackseveral companies have received for implimenting microtransactions recently.

While recurring microtransaction payments aren’t on the docket forRollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures, expansions might be. While no official announcement has been made yet, Mark made it clear that discussions were clearly happening between Atari and Nvizzio Creations about expansions. He referenced the series' storied history with expansions as well, so releasing at least one forRollerCoaster Tycoon Adventureson Nintendo Switch would be fitting. For the time being though, the developer’s focus is on the base version:

“For DLC, theRollerCoaster Tycoonfranchise has a great tradition of awesome expansions, so that’s definitely something we’ve been talking about. For now though, we’re focusing on the base game.”

RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventureswill release exclusively for Nintendo Switch in North America on December 13. You can currentlypre-order a North American physical copy on Amazon. Expect the full interview between DualShockers and Atari’s Mark Perloff to go live later this week.
