Capcomshared a new look at the upcoming Winters' expansion forResident Evil Villageduring last night’s Resident Evil Showcase, which also contained a new trailer from the story-driven Shadows of Rose campaign.
As you may already know, Rose is the main protagonist of the upcoming DLC, returning to the Village 16 years after the events of the original game. Rose finds out about her extraordinary powers, but she is looking for a way to lose those powers to come back to a normal life, which is the reason why she has to face her fears in the village.

Aside from sharing more story details, the new trailer also includes some gameplay footage, during which you can watch Rose using her special abilities against enemies in the Village. Shadows of Rose will be available on October 28 along with the other parts of the Winters' expansion. If you purchased Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, you will receive Winters' expansion content for free.
Other than Shadows of Rose, Capcom has included other significant updates in the upcoming DLC, including huge improvements to the Mercenaries mode with new playable characters and new adjustable options that can change the experience for players based on what they want to achieve from the mode.
Moreover, the new expansion will bring a third-person mode to the original campaign of Resident Evil Village, allowing you to play from a different view for a fresh experience. The developers mentioned that despite having a third-person look at Ethan, players won’t be able to see his face as the character will turn its head around if you try to rotate the camera to see Ethan’s face.
A demo for Resident Evil Village third-person mode is now available across all platforms, which allows you to experience a brief section of the game in the third-person view before the full launch.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is now available for pre-order for $49.99. If you want to only get the Winters' expansion, it will cost you $19.99. All players who own the original version of Resident Evil Village will gain free access to Resident Evil Re:Verse when the Winters' expansion launches.
