Remnant 2has many Archetypes for players to choose from. Archetypes give very different perks and bonuses that are most effective when matching your play style. While there are only a few Archetypes to choose from at the beginning of the game, players can unlock more.

After unlocking your second Archetype, players will also be able to have two Archetypes equipped at once, receiving the benefits and abilities of both. The Engineer is one of the more hidden Archetypes that is almost impossible to find unless you know where to look.
The Alien Device
First, travel to thesecondopen region of N’Erud. This area is a wide-open desert surrounded by gas that will give you the curse effect should you stand in it for too long. While thisgas can quickly kill you,it gives you enough time to run a few feet in first. To get the item needed for the Engineer Archetype, you’ll need tofind a dead body in the border’s gas somewhere in this area.
This can be a long and tedious process, as you’ll need torun the perimeter or the entire desert,looking for aspecific rock structure, as this seems to be the sameacross all worlds. The platformed rock will be to the left, with spiky rocks on the right, with a small gap in the middle. Runthrough the gap and jump down off the ledgeand continue to move forward. The dead body with theAlien Device will be directly ahead.For those who have unlocked the Explorer Archetype, theFortune Hunter ability will greatly helpin locating the Alien Device within the gas.

Unlocking The Engineer Archetype
After obtaining The Alien Device, take it back toWallace in Ward 13.TheDrzyr Caliper will cost 10 Lumenite Crystals and 1,000 Scrap, and purchasing it will unlock the Engineer Archetype. After this Archetype has been unlocked, you canequip it on your current character or pick it as the starting Archetype for future characters.
