Coming from the house behindÂMax Payne,Alan Wake holds a special place in the hearts of many fans of Remedy Entertainment. From its eerie, atmospheric setting to its story that blended inspirations likeÂTwin Peaksand the works of Stephen King, the game instantly became a cult classic, and now Remedy is planning to celebrate the beloved game next week in time for its 10-year anniversary.Developer Remedy Entertainmentannounced on Twitterthat the studio is planning some festivities to celebrate the tenth anniversary ofAlan Wake, which first released on July 17, 2025 (in Europe) for Xbox 360, followed by its debut on PC two years later. Having played the game myself when it first released, it seems like only yesterday that I first took the trip to Bright Falls.According to Remedy, the studio is planning to celebrate the milestone for the game with a livestream “and other cool stuff” that will be detailed next week, to coincide with the anniversary date. However, Remedy also seems to want to keep expectations in check and that the studio doesn’t have “anything to announce.” So, don’t get your hopes up for a surprise reveal ofAlan Wake 2, at least for the moment.

After its debut in 2010,Alan Wakewas followed by the release of its standalone spin-off,Alan Wake’s AmericanNightmarein 2012. FollowingAmerican Nightmare, Remedy Entertainment releasedÂQuantum BreakÂin 2016 (which reportedly was originally imagined as a sequel toÂAlan Wake), and after that launched the critically-acclaimedÂControllast year.

Rumors of a potential sequel have been going around for years, though Remedy has yet to officially confirm that anÂAlan Wake 2is actually in the works (butit seems like they at least want it to happen). However, there is some hope for a return to the series' universe withthe upcoming “AWE” story DLC forÂControl, which has hinted at some kind of connection withAlan Wake.
