Sean “Diddy” Combs has been all over the news lately, but for all the wrong reasons. He used to be one of the most celebrated rappers in the industry but in recent times he has created nothing but controversies. One such controversy of his also featured former rapper Shyne, which forever altered their dynamics. So much so that the former rapper blamed Diddy for destroying his music career altogether.

On a much more recent update on this, Diddy has issued a cease-and-desist letter to his ex-protégé for his documentary. Not only that, but Diddy’s ex-bodyguard Gene Deal has also added more to the conversation.

The Controversy That Ended Shyne’s Career and His Dynamics With Diddy

Diddyhas been having a rough year after being convicted on major charges. But his recent cease and desist letter to former rapper Shyne has brought up past matters. Shyne was once a rapper under Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and was mentored by the rapper himself. He secured major deals, and his singlesThat’s Gangsta, Bad Boyz,andBonnie & Shyneall topped the Billboard charts upon their release.

Amid all this popularity, an event completelyaltered his career trajectory, and he became a convicted felon. The former rapper was with Diddy and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez during a 1999 shootout in New York City. Apparently Diddy and Shyne had gotten into an argument with club-goers when Shyne allegedly took out a weapon and fired.

While Diddy was acquitted of all charges, Shyne was sent to prison for 10 years and was convicted of five charges. He was released after eight years and deported back to his home country Belize and was denied entry to the United States. He’s currently into politics and has been appointed the Belize House of Representatives Opposition leader.

Recently, his documentaryThe Honorable Shynecame out after which Diddy has sent him acease-and-desist orderto present only factual claims. As Shyne had alleged in the past that he took the fall forDiddyin the 1999 nightclub shooting. Adding to this, even Diddy’s ex-bodyguard Gene Deal is also in the documentary.

He added, via The Art Dialogue that the rapper personally told him that he hated Shyne after the trial. Deal added “Puff said I hate that motherf**ker” on his equation with Shyne. While it’s still not clear if Shyne directly received the letter or what his next move will be.

Diddy Used to Call Kim Porter Several Times While Dating Jennifer Lopez

Diddy has dated several leading ladies from the industry. While his relationship with Cassie grabbed headlines after she filed a lawsuit against him, he was previously in a long-term off-again on-again relationship with Kim Porter. Their relationship began in 1994 and after several ups and downs, they split for the final time in 2007.

Within this, they also welcomed three kids, and the rapper also adopted her son from a previous relationship. They remained on good terms, and even though he moved on, especially with his romance with pop starJennifer Lopez, his connection with Porter never really faded.In an interview, the late model added that his relationship with Lopez was“humiliating, so disrespectful”and“not real.”

She also continued to add that during his time with the singer, he continued to call her relentlessly – sometimes even 50 to 60 times. Porter also added:

No one knows that part… He was calling fifty, sixty times a day. Sometimes I wouldn’t even talk to him because I was so angry. I couldn’t be ‘nice Kim.’ I had to be, you know, that b—- Like, this is not going down.

This obviously became too much for her, and she admitted that she used to skip his calls out of anger.
