Pokemon Scarlet and Violethas kicked off its game with a Pokedex of just over 200 differentPokemonfor players to encounter and collect. With Pokemon unwrapping their newest region, they have stuck to tradition in having two different legendary Pokemon represent each version of the game: Koraidon, the Fighting and Dragon-type legendary for Pokemon Scarlet, andMiraidon, the Electricand Dragon-type legendary for Pokemon Violet.

There are also four other legendary Pokemon that players can encounter in the gameby collecting stakesto unlock their shrines, but what about previous legendaries? Scarlet and Violet have actually not included any previous legendary Pokemon, and the game is missing out on some real powerhouses from previous generations.
Mew is one of the very first legendary and mythical Pokemon to ever appear in the video games, so it would’ve been no surprise to see Mew make yet another appearance in the franchise’s newest game. Unfortunately though, the small creature hasn’t been included in Paldea’s Pokedex.

Mew could have made a great addition to the new region, even if not obtainable in the region itself, rather only collected through trade from previous games. Mew in Scarlet and Violet could’ve been an enjoyable experience, whether for collecting, or simply as a partner in the party.
Mewtwo is probably the most popular and recognizable legendary Pokemon within the Pokemon franchise. Mewtwo was also one of the very first legendary Pokemon and is a powerful clone of Mew, grown in mankind’s attempt to create a better version of Mew.

This Pokemon is a staple for the franchise, so it would have been nice to see Mewtwo in the new game. Mewtwo is aPsychic-type Pokemonwith unfathomable power and could have been great for players to use throughout their journey in Paldea – or a great competitive Pokemon.
Kyrogre is the Water-type legendary that first appeared in Pokemon Sapphire, and then again with a new form inPokemon Alpha Sapphire. This legendary Pokemon is among some of the most beloved out of all the box legendary Pokemon.

As such, fans would have appreciated seeing their whale-like legendary get some love in the newest game. In a battling sense, Kyogre would have been a wonderful variation for players to use with legendary Pokemon allowed – and overall a great Pokemon to show off to friends.

Just like its Water-type counterpart, Groudon was another highly appraised box legendary Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Ruby, and then again with a new form in Pokemon Omega Ruby. Groudon is a Ground-type Pokemonwith some crazy offensive base stats.
This legendary Pokemon would have been very appreciated if Game Freak included Groudon into Paldea’s Pokedex. Players would even be able to bring over their Groudon that they captured way back when Pokemon Ruby first released.
Pokemon Sword and Shieldcame out with some very powerful Pokemon, and the two strongest of them are the box legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta. Zacian is a Fairy-type Pokemon, but when given the Rusted Sword as a held item, it turns into a Fairy and Steel-type Pokemon, which gives it some incredible advantages.

Zacian is actually considered one of the strongest Pokemon in the entire franchise, and fans would have loved to have such a powerhouse travel along with them in their party, or even use in battle.
5Zamazenta
Just like its offensive counterpart, Zamazenta could have been an amazing addition from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Though it would be completely understandable for players to not actually be able to catch the Fighting/Steel-type legendary in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players should at least be able to transfer Zamazenta over to the new game.
Pokemon Sword and Shield were the first new generation to hit the Nintendo Switch, so it should only make sense to actually include the newer legendary Pokemon in newer games for players to use.
Celebi is one of the smallest legendary Pokemon in the whole of the franchise. This adorable Pokemon was first seen inPokemon Gold and Silveras a legendary Pokemon. Celebiis a Grassand Psychic-type Pokemon and has some fair stats in terms of competing with others in battle.
This creature even has the ability to travel through time, hence its nickname, “the time-travel Pokemon.” Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could have included asmall side questfor players to encounter Celebi, maybe even referencePokemon Legends: Arceusby having Celebi go back in time.
Rayquaza is one of the most used and loved legendary Pokemon to ever exist. This Pokemon has an incredible design, and is alsoone of the bestoffensive Pokemon for players to utilize in battle. Rayquaza was first seen in Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby alongside Kyogre and Groudon.
The snake-like dragon even got a new mega-evolution form in the game’s remakes. Rayquaza could have made an exciting appearance in the new region – with the option of transferring an older version Rayquaza into the game.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus released just several months before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Since Arceus was the main legendary of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it would have made complete sense to include the god-like Pokemon in the newest game.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could have even included Arceus' newest form that it got in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Hopefully in the future, alongside thePokemon Home’s compatibility with Scarlet and Violet, players will get a chance to transfer their Arceus to the new region.
1Regigigas
Just like the “god of Pokemon” (Arceus) was seen in the franchise’s previous video game release before Scarlet and Violet, Regigigas made an important appearance in the game. Players could capture Regigigas in Pokemon Legends: Arceus near the end of the game.
Regigigas is the only Normal-type legendary Pokemon to exist, making it just that much more unique. Since this Pokemon made a recent appearance in a previous game, it would make sense to include Regigigas in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but players can only hope to see the legendary in the future.
