Nintendois pulling out all of the stops when it comes to theSwitch 2’s release. This year alone, we will see the launch of a new Mario Kart game, a 3D Donkey Kong platformer, and the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4. Now we can officially add another iconic Nintendo franchise to the list: Pokémon.

Nintendo has confirmedthat Pokémon Legends: Z-A will launch on October 16th on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
They also explained the difference between the two versions. Pokémon Legends: Z-A will take full advantage of the Switch 2’s hardware, offering improved graphics and frame rate.

In previous titles in the Pokémon video game series, Pokémon took action once per turn. InPokémon Legends: Z‑A, Trainers and their Pokémon will move around in real time during battles, and Pokémon will unleash their moves when their Trainers command them to.

While the Pokemon games are more known for their characters and mechanics, it doesn’t mean there aren’t some great stories in there.
It’s the first time a Pokémon game has featured real-time combat overturn-based combat, and people are understandably concerned. However, after the mainline series' failures to innovate, it’s nice to see Game Freak trying something new.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was a fresh, albeit flawed, way to experience the Pokémon series, and if Pokémon Legends: Z-A can expand on that, I think we’re in for a real treat.
The wait won’t be long, as October will be here before you know it.
