PlayStation Productionsstudio head Asad Qizilbash has released a teaser for theTwisted MetalTV series. We know the series wrapped filming last year, but Asad’s comments are the only hint we’ve heard about the release.
The new video on Asad’s Twitter account shows a glimpse of what we should expect from PlayStation Productions in 2023. It starts with Asad in an elevator withGran Turismoshining inside the doors. Suddenly the doors open, and we seeThe Last of Us' main characters on the opposite wall. Asad’s tweet caption hints that what we see in the video is what we should expect this year.

“PlayStation Productions this year in one elevator ride.”
Another important aspect of the teaser is the emotes that Asad puts at the end of the caption. A clown and a fire emoji follows the “You can’t see me, but my head is on fire too” caption. Fans were eager to know what the two represented, concluding that it was Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal game.
Assuming Asad Qizilbash teaser is suggesting a 2023 release makes a lot of sense, given the long wait since photography finished. The executive also confirmed through replies to fans' tweets that he is working hard to make it happen.
Asad leads PlayStation Productions in adapting IPs into other forms of media, with The Last of Us as a current shining example of his work. Since the company’s official launch in 2019, it has produced notable works, including the Uncharted movie. Other projects still in the works includeGhost of Tsushima,Days Gone, andGran Turismo.
Twisted Metal is an exciting prospect, with Anthony Mackie as John Doe and Will Arnett as Sweet Tooth. Other cast members include Samoa Joe, Stephanie Beatriz and Neve Campbell. In the series, Doe has to deliver supplies through a post-apocalyptic wasteland aided by Quiet, the car thief.
The show is planned to premiere on Peacock.
