Sony has revealed the sales data for itsPlayStationdivision as part of the company’s quarterly financials report, and to one’s surprise, the PS5 is still selling like hotcakes.
Not only that, but other PlayStation products are also seeing an increase in user spending and revenue.

While most of the financial info revealed by Sony is for shareholders and analysts, you can bet fanboys will use it as weapons for console war dominance, and it’s a battle that Sony seems to be handily winning this generation.

PS5 Shipments Top 80 Million Units Total
According to Sony’s quarterlyfinancials, the PS5 has shipped a total of 2.5 million units during the three months ending July 26, 2025.This puts the console’s running tally up to 80.3 million units worldwide.Not impressive enough for you? There’s more.
Games and Network Services sales are up 8% year-on-year, as software sales reached 65.9 million, which is an increase of 23% compared to last year.

The PlayStation Network’s monthly active users (MAU) have increased 6% from 116 million players to 123 million during the same period in the previous fiscal year. This translates to an operating income (profit) climb of a staggering +127%.
New PS5, PS4 Releases For The Week Of August 4 To August 10

With the Xbox brand now going multiplatform, it seems there’s no stopping Sony’s dominance in the console market. Hopefully, that doesn’t translate to the company going back to “Arrogant Sony” from a few years back.
