Frontier Developments has officially announcedPlanet Zoo: Tropical Pack, a new DLC expansion coming toSteamon April 4th.
Priced at $9.99 / £7.99, the new Tropical Pack will allow players to discover the incredible inhabitants of lush rainforests when it arrives next month. Alongside the release of the new Tropical Pack will be a free game update, which will include a new animal interaction mechanic known as animal sociality, invisible paths, new advanced movement options, and the option to toggle climbing functions on or off with certain objects.

As for Planet Zoo’s new Tropical Pack, players who purchase the DLC will be able to spot the Lar Gibbon leaping between the boughs, as well as Fossa’s sleeping high up in the trees. The Tropical Pack also includes Asian Water Monitors, Red River Hogs, and even a new walkthrough exhibit mammal - the Brown-throated Sloth.
“Alongside this, you’ll get a range of new scenery items including architectural pieces inspired by places across Southeast Asia, and tropical foliage such as the Rafflesia, Pitcher’s Plant, and Epiphytes,” Frontier Developments announced in a newblog post, which broke down all of the new animals, features, and career scenarios coming in the Tropical Pack next month.
The final new piece of content included in the Tropical Pack is a brand new career scenario for players to jump into. The official description of the new scenario reads: “Continue our ongoing story in a Planet Zoo Career Scenario as Tiffany has gotten herself into another pickle! This time, Tiffany’s dad bought her a Zoo at auction and left it to her to fix up, and she’s hired both Dominic Myers and yourself to help her do so - oh no! Can you help her turn the place around, and what is Myers really up to? Can he be trusted?”
Planet Zoo update 1.13 and the new Tropical Pack DLC will be released on Steam onTuesday, April 4th. Players can receive notification of the new expansion’s release by wish-listing it via the pack’sofficial store page.
