Despite being previouslyconfirmed to be coming to the west earlier this year, it seems as though Koei Tecmo is no longer looking to offer up any new details on the localization ofPersona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers.
Spotted bySiliconera, the latestfinancial report from Koei Tecmothat was released today no longer mentions a western release ofPersona 5 Scramble, the Musou game set in the world of the beloved JRPG. Previously,P5Swas confirmed in the publisher’s financial report from the first quarter of FY2020 to be heading to North America and Europe at yet-to-be-determined dates. However, that tease has since been removed altogether, with only the Asian iteration ofPersona 5 Scramblenow being touched on in the supporting documentation.
So just what does this mean? Well, probably not a lot right now. Even though Koei Tecmo has altered the report for one reason or another to remove this western mention ofPersona 5 Scramblefrom its future plans, those of us in NA or EU eagerly awaiting the game’s arrival shouldn’t give up hope just yet. When it comes to upcoming titles, the latest report from Koei Tecmo more noticeably focuses onHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity,which is set to launch next month. With this in mind, it seems as though the publisher could just be looking to hone-in more on near-term products, rather than those that might be further out.P5Sdefinitely seems like it’s falling into this latter camp.
Plus, considering the fact that Sega has also previouslylocked-in a trademark forPersona 5 Strikers(which looks to be the western name of the title), nothing we have seen or heard up to this point indicates that plans for an English localization have been halted altogether.
Regardless of why Koei may have opted to remove any mention ofP5Sfrom its financial document remains to be seen, but that doesn’t mean we’ll never see it show up in North America and Europe. Whenever the game assumedly does end up arriving here in the west, it should come to both PS4 and Switch.
