Persona 3 Portablewas the first game in the series to try out many new ideas for the series, with one of the bigger additions being social links. Some social links in Persona 3 Portable are tied to specific clubs, committees, or teams that you’ll have to join and attend to rank up the corresponding social link.

Depending on which protagonist you pick, you’ll choose which clubs to join, but this will not affect the social link you’ll begin by attending. No matter which sports team you join, you’ll still meet the same characters and follow the same stories, except when you play as the other protagonist. Attending these clubs and teams also does not increase your social stats and only ranks up the social link associated with that club. You can only join one sports team and one club per playthrough, but each option involves the same social link.
Male Protagonist Sports Teams and Clubs
As the male protagonist, you’ll haveaccess to track, swimming, and kendo.You’ll be able tojoin these teams on 4/23; no matter which team you decide to join, you’llbegin theChariot social linkwith Kazushi.Each of these sports teams can be found in the same hallway. Starting from the entrance to the school, takethe hallway to the right, follow it when it turns left, andexit through the double doors by the stairs.Now in the outside area, follow the hallways until you reach either the field, gym, or pool. Entering the pool will see you joining the swimming team, entering the gym will have you joining the Kendo team, and heading to the field will have you joining the track team.
You’ll also be able tojoin a club on 6/17, joining either theart, music, or science club. Each club will follow the Fortune social link, and you’ll meet Keisuke Hiraga. These clubs are located on thefirst floor right-side hallway in the school.Along the right side of the hallway, you’ll find the music club and the art club, respectively, and along the left hallway is the science club.

Female Protagonist Sports Teams and Clubs
As the female protagonist, you’ll have access toeither the tennis or volleyball team on 4/23. Both of these teams will introduce and begin theChariot social link, Rio.These sports teams are found at the field and the gym, respectively. you may find both of them by starting at the entrance to the school andtaking the right hallway. Follow this hallway and go through the double doors by the stairs at the end. Now in the outside area,follow the path to reach the doors to the gym or field. Going to the field will have you join the tennis team while going to the gym takes you to the volleyball team. Either team will initiate Rio’s social link, and the story will be almost identical, just switching out the sport played.
The female protagonist will have the ability to joindifferent committees on 5/8.The Library committee is located at the library, while the Health committee is at the nurse’s office. Forthe first day in this social link, you will be asked which committee you’d like to join and willgo there right after school and begin the social link.Both the library and nurse’s office arelocated on the first floor, in the left hallway,with the library on the right side and the nurse’s office on the left side.
