While the battle betweenPalworldandNintendois still far from over, there have been some interesting developments. Pokemon’s strongest lawyers have been chipping away at the game that put Pocketpair on the map, and while the Palapagos Islands have yet to fall below the waves, the war has left them scarred.
Somewhat early on in the lawsuit, Palworld had to remove your ability to cast your Pals out into the world via Pal Sphere (they spawn beside you instead). Now, your Palscan’t help you glide aroundanymore, either.

For many players, that would be the end of it. It’s a ‘wait and see’ approach that some fans… would rather not take. A Palworld mod has appeared (thanks, eurogamer) that does its part in restoring the game’s lost mechanics.
TheGlider Restorationmod byPrimarinabeedoes exactly what it says on the tin. …Well, mostly. It’s not a complete reversion of the game’s recent update, but it comes close. It’s been less than a week since Palworld lost its gliding Pals, and someone already has a mod restoring them.

“For those of you who love flying with your pals,” the mod’s description reads, “this mod uses sleight of hand to reverse the sleight-of-hand ‘removal’ of gliding pals. You still need a glider in your inventory, and it’s not QUITE perfect, but it basically reverses Patch 0.5.5 without requiring you to forego future game updates.”
Palworld Fans Slam Nintendo: Recent Game-Changing Patch Tied to Nintendo Lawsuit
Fans are widely disappointed after the Nintendo/Palworld lawsuit led to a recent game-changing patch.
Installation instructions, as well as some notes on compatibility, are of course included on the mod page. But if you’ve modded Palworld before, this should all look fairly standard.

It’s a cosmetic mod - functional, even in a multiplayer server - but the effects are all client-side. Gameplay is unaffected, and other players who lack the mod will just see you gliding around normally.
Nintendo’s War Against Palworld Is Not Over Yet
Despite everything, the developers at Pocketpair seem keen to continue developing their latest project. The fact that it was so successful is likely no small incentive, but there does seem to be a genuine desire to ensure that Nintendo’s maneuvering can’t be allowed to succeed.
Still moving forward with theircollaboration planswithTerraria, Palworld’s growth as a game doesn’t seem to have slowed much. They just, on occasion, lose features that Nintendo gets angry at.

Palworld Dev Adamant Palworld Will Never Be Free-To-Play
While live services can be great, Palworld’s recent decision to abandon this free-to-play model proves that not every game needs one.
It’s been mentioned before that Nintendo’s methods in this lawsuit may be a tad dubious. One expert called it a case oflegal “bullying”, and Pocketpair has been fairly open abouthow this has all affected them.

At the very least, it’s clear where fans stand on this issue. The “two cakes” defense wins again - people want Palworld and Pokemon to coexist in peace, and largely aren’t in favor of what Nintendo’s been attempting thus far.
There is no clear end in sight for the Palworld lawsuit, and with how drawn-out matters like this can be, don’t expect to see a clean resolution anytime soon.
Despite Pending Lawsuit With Nintendo, Palworld Devs Still Considering Switch 2 Release
Palworld isn’t on the original Switch since it’s not “beefy” enough.
