The most anticipated arc of the post-time skipOne Pieceera has finally begun, and fans are all for it. The Elbaf arc, which marked the beginning of a new journey for the Straw Hat Pirates, is filled with mysteries and enticing plot developments that fans are waiting to see, but the one thing that theOne Piecefandom is hoping for the most is the power upgrade for the Straw Hat Pirates.

Although the level-up of Usopp from the crew is already in the books because of his connection with the giants and Elbaf in particular, there are assumptions that even Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, will get yet another power upgrade. This power upgrade will make him even more dangerous and put him at the level of Mihawk.
According to the theory, Zoro might possibly be able to turn his swords into black blades in Elbaf. If he manages to do that, he will be skilled enough to challenge Mihawk for the title of the Strongest Swordsman in theOne Pieceworld. And there is a chance that with the new abilities he gained during Wano and his black blades, he might win the duel after all.

One PieceTheory Hints At The Power Up of The Straw Hat Crew
According to a theory posted by the popularOne Piecepodcast, thatonepiecetalk, the Elbaf arclooks a lot similar to the prominent Skypiea arcthat brought a big twist in the adventures of the crew. Both arcs have the mention of gods, rich culture, and adventure. Even the background of Elbaf looks a lot like Skypiea.

In Skypiea, the only Straw Har that got a few upgrades was Usopp in the form of dials. Dials are strange, mysterious devices that have the ability to store energy and matter and then send it back with even more power. These dials helped the crew a lot but were undermined because of the narrative.

The theory states that in the case of Elbaf, the power upgrades will be granted to the crew in the form of Runes. Runes are mystical alphabets used during Norse mythology that granted them powers through the gods. InOne Piece, runes could be used to store Haki within certain objects or weapons and make them even more powerful, just like the dials.
Thus, if this happens, every member of the crew who uses some kind of weapon for their attack might be able to store Haki within their weapons. This would make them even more powerful, ultimately increasing the power level of the crew as a whole.

Zoro Might Finally Get His Black Blades
If the above-mentioned theory holds any grounds and most of the Straw Hat Pirates get a power upgrade in the form of runes, the strongest one among them would be Zoro. Zoro recently unlocked Conqueror’s Haki, and he even got a new sword. If Zoro uses the abilities of the mystical runes, he might be able to turn his swords into black blades permanently.
This would make him the strongest Straw Hat Pirate after Luffy and one of the strongest swordsmen, capable of standing on par with the likes of Mihawk and V. Nusjuro. Also, there have been theories thatMihawk unlocked his black bladein the same way, as they also have some letters engraved on them.

Although the theory has a lot of plotholes, it is intriguing to see what kind of power-up the Straw Hats get, as they desperately need one. The enemies and upcoming opponents are growing stronger day by day, and thus they also need to reach their level if they want to find theOne Piecetreasure and liberate theOne Pieceworld.
