Luffy does not kill his enemies, to which he said that Luffy is a dream killer. Instead of killing his enemies physically, he mentally kills them.
By crushing his enemies in battles, he destroys their dreams. The One Piece fanbase is aware the characters can put their lives on the line to achieve their dreams. Roronoa Zoro was ready to lose his left hand for Sandai Kitetsu, just to fulfill his dream of becoming the strongest swordsman in the world. It is still not clear whether Kaido is alive or was killed by falling into the lava after fighting Luffy.
It might be a foreshadowing of Monkey D. Luffy’s killing days. The Final Saga ofOne Piecehas begun, and as far as fans can think, Blackbeard will be his final enemy before getting his hand on the ultimate treasure.
