The latest chapter ofOne Piecehas been leaked. It reveals some interesting information about Loki’s past with Shanks and, in the current timeline, what the person posing as him has in store for him.

Most theories suggest this person might be his evil twin that their father, Figarland Garling, kept but there’s no real explanation for this person’s existence or purpose. However, in Chapter 1136, we get a glimpse of why he’s in Elbaph.
Turns out, the imposter look-alike of Shanks and the unnamed person, now identified as Gunko, are part of the God’s Knights. They wish to recruit the Prince who refuses the position. Upon his refusal, the evil version of the Red Hair Emperor brings out his true colors.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that a corrupt system like the God’s Knights, who work directly under the World Government and are headed by a Celestial Dragon, would commit heinous acts to get their way. The events of Chapter 1136 are predictable for the two villains who’ve appeared out of nowhere.
The evil twin of Shanks isn’t playing when it comes to the God’s Knights
It seems the two God’s Knights are desperate to get Loki on the team. They go as far as to try and kill him upon his refusal. The Accursed Prince is saved by his wolf companion, but Gunko subdues them instead, with the evil version of Shanks dangling their life in front of Loki.
He mockingly offers to spare the wolf in exchange for the Prince joining them. This shows the extent of cruelty the look-alike will go to. However, Loki doesn’t budge and is determined to channel his anger at the loss of his friend to destroy the world.

Don’t Listen to the Fans, Oda-Sensei: One Piece Should Make Loki Evil for a Major Reason to Prove It’s Still a Pirate Story in the End
According to the X user, @pewpiece, they went even further and said they’d kill both the wolf and Loki if he didn’t submit. The Prince then says one of the most thought-provoking lines inOne Piece, making him an intriguing character.

It’s safe to say, like in all movies where the dog dies,One Piecefans are devastated the wolf is dead and was used as a bargaining chip. Loki’s words show honor and grief, whereas Shanks’ look-alike seems to have no problem wreaking havoc to get his way.
Chapter 1136 (almost) confirms the look-alike isn’t Shanks
The latest chapter also details that Shanks was involved in Loki’s imprisonment 6 years ago andthe Prince holds a severe grudgeover it. The Red-Haired Captain then became one of the four Emperors and Elbaph is under his protection.
If Shanks was truly a God’s Knight undercover, then Loki’s reaction to being recruited by his captor would’ve been much more drastic. This chapter then affirms it might not be the Shanks we know after all andthe twin theory is real. Withhis lineage remaining a mystery, it’s highly likely.

Hayao Miyazaki to Dragon Ball: Every Major Role Mayumi Tanaka Has Played Other Than Luffy in One Piece
Eiichiro Odamight still surprise us with another plot twist that the God’s Knight twin of Shanks is indeed the Emperor Luffy admires. Perhaps Loki’swords to Luffy about himweren’t just a personal opinion but a fact. Either way, it’s not looking good for Shanks fans in the Elbaph Arc ofOne Piece.
