Diablo 4’s meta is becoming more important as players search for the optimal strategy to delve deeper and deeper into the game’s new levelled end game dungeon, the Abbatoir of Zir.
Before this ongoing seasonal event, Diablo 4 was sorely lacking in aspirational content. Thankfully, we now have a dungeon that can challenge the player base. An element of competition is creeping into the event, with anunofficial leaderboard appearing on Maxroll.

Diablo 4: Abattoir Of Zir - Complete Event Guide
Diablo 4’s Abbatoir of Zir event offers a major challenge to even seasoned D4 players. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.
Unsurprisingly, given the current state of the Diablo 4 meta — Hammer of the Ancients (HotA) Barbarian is rampant on the leaderboards. 8 of the top ten entries on the solo hardcore Abbatoir of Zir leaderboard are HotA barbarians. The current leader, Funnyfelix, is theonly player to have cleared 24 tiers of the dungeonwith a hardcore character (registered on the leaderboard).

The only player in the top ten not playing the mega-popular barbarian is streamer and content creatorWudijowho holds the sixth and ninth slots with hispenetrating shot rogue build. In the no-restriction solo leaderboard (both hardcore and softcore characters), the top eight entries are all HotA barbarians with the ninth and tenth slots belonging to two ball lightning sorcerer players.
The first-evertier 25 clearwas reported a few days ago by a Chinese player. Predictably, he was also playing a HotA barbarian. The run was dependent on rolling the best map and monster set, something the player had to grind for, for a long time.

For those unfamiliar, the HotA barbarian stems from the eponymous ability Hammer of the Ancients which is a small area-of-effect attack. With the use of various aspects and other complementary abilities, the barbarian becomes quite a force of nature.
