Nuts, for example, can be consumed to increase a unit’s maximum HP, attack powers, or defensive stats - these should be used right away. ensure to read the item descriptions when you pick up something new and keep an eye out for the powerful options on this list.
10Herb Of Clamor & Light
Starting off with the most potent herbs, the Herb of Clamor & Herb of Light have joined forces to be the first entry on this list. These two items share a similar effect, they both cure a negative unit status (debuff) that causes the unit to be less effective in combat.
Herb of Clamor cures a single ally of silence, while Herb of Light cures blindness. When affecting a certain team member, silence and blindness can be the most detrimental debuff they can get. So curing these ailments should become your top priority.

9Herb Of Revival, Awakening, & Clarity
Sticking with the herbs - Revival, Awakening, & Clarity are the next most valuable items because they all share a similar spot in your toolkit. Herb of Revival revives a single unconscious ally, Herb of Awakening cures sleep, and Herb of Clarity removes confusion.
These herbs have a lot of value because they prevent your party from missing turns. When a party member is rendered unconscious, put to sleep, or confused, they’re unable to take their next turn. This is worse than being silenced or blind because it can’t be cured by the unit affected by the status.

8Herb Elixir
The final herb on this list is the Herb Elixir. This item is a combination of all other herbs - it’ll cure a single ally of all status ailments. The Herb Elixir is best used as a backup, using the ailment-specific herbs first and saving this for a last resort.
As you’re traveling around Solistia, open every treasure chest to find a selection of herbs. You’ll come across the lesser herbs more frequently than Herb Elixirs, so save this rare item for when it’s your only option.

7Almighty Olive
The Almighty Olive is the most powerful item on this list, but it isn’t the best. When your party is low on hope with several fallen allies, using an Almighty Olive will revive and fully restore HP to all allies. In dire circumstances, an Almighty Olive will be the difference between certain death and a second chance.

The reason this item isn’t first on this list is because of how rare it is. The only way to obtain an Almighty Olive is by visiting Lostseed in Brightlands and stealing, mugging, purchasing, or entreating the Old Vessel.
6Olive Of Life
Although the Almighty Olive is vastly superior to all other Olives of Life, these are the bread-and-butter items that you’ll use early and often. The Olive of Life revives and restores 500 HP to a single fallen ally, which increases to 2000 HP from Olive of Life (M) and the (L) will fully restore HP.
The Olive of Life is vital in the early game but will become outdated once your party members have a decent HP pool. The Olive of Life (M) will be your most used revival item and you should always keep ample supply.

5Energizing Pomegranate
Like the Olive of Life, the Energizing Pomegranate also comes in small, medium, & large variations. At its entry level, using an Energizing Pomegranate will restore 1 Boost Point (BP) to a single ally. On the Energizing Pomegranate (M) the item restores 2 BP, while the (L) restores 4 BP.
Restoring BP at a crucial moment can be a game-changing action. If a glowing purple boss is about to attack, do anything you’re able to to break its shields. Using an Energizing Pomegranate is the easiest way to get additional weapon attacks or empower a heavy ability.

4Empowering Lychee
If managing BP isn’t a problem because you have plenty of Energizing Pomegranates or you roll with Partito in your party, the Empowering Lychee becomes even more valuable. Filling your Latent Power Gauge can allow you to make the most of your BP and deliver big hits to your foes.
Nothing feels worse than breaking a boss just to have no Latent Ability available to destroy their health pool. If your Latent Power Gauges aren’t refilling fast enough, eating some Empowering Lychee can really boost your damage output.
3Rejuvenating Jam
There are 4 types of Jam in Octopath Traveler 2, each flavor offering a tremendous boost to a party member. Refreshing Jam will fully restore HP & SP, Reinforcing Jam fully restores BP & fills Latent Power Gauge, and Revitalizing Jam fully restores HP, SP, and BP to a single ally.

The best flavor of them all is Rejuvenating Jam. Using a Rejuvenating Jam on an ally will fully restore their HP, SP, & BP and fills their Latent Power Gauge. Aside from curing negative status ailments, the Rejuvenating Jam completely restores a party member.
2Inspiriting Plum Basket
With an Inspiriting Plum Basket in your inventory, your party should never run out of SP. When used either in or out of combat, an Inspiriting Plum Basket restores SP to all allies. Far superior to an Inspiriting Plum, the Basket saves turns by restoring everyone’s resources in a single go.
When you’re fighting for your life, you don’t want to worry about running out of heals or spells. Especially valuable on long boss fights, having an Inspiriting Plum Basket can ensure that you’re able to heal and cast abilities without worrying about running out of SP.
1Healing Grape Bunch
The best item in Octopath Traveler 2 is the Healing Grape Bunch, consuming one will restore HP to all allies. Although it doesn’t heal as much HP as a Healing Grape (M), the Bunch is so much more valuable.
The Healing Grape Bunch can negate the damage from an area-of-effect spell when your healer isn’t able to keep up. No other item can be more vital or turn the tides so heavily as the Healing Grape Bunch. Save every one that you find for those dire circumstances where your party is one spell away from falling.
