Urquhart further confirmedOuter Worlds 2will be developed on the Unreal Engine, alongside tools Obsidian developed in-house for Unreal Engine and help Obsidian games stand out from others built on the popular game engine.

The originalOuter Worldsreceived mixed reviews. Some found the game’s satire self-indulgent, or the RPG format too familiar, while others saw the potentialbut wanted the game to go further, and take more risk.
