Initially, whenMashle: Magic and Muscles(written by Mangaka Hajime Kōmoto and directed by Tomoya Tanaka) came out,anime fans were enjoying it just as aHarry Potterparody. However, since then, a lot has developed in the fans’ feelings towards it, including a sense of appreciation for correcting and bringing to life some things that were much expected from theHarry Potteruniverse.
One of these very things that fans desperately wanted to seein the books and the film series was the inclusion of the trans community in the Wizarding World as well. While J.K. Rowling never stepped forward to fulfill this one wish of fans, the creators of the manga/anime took it upon themselves to introduce it as yet another dig at the author.
