Many fans must have been waiting to see the cast of HBO’sHouse of the Dragonat the 2024 Emmy Awards night, but unfortunately, none of them went to celebrate the event. In fact, not even one was expected to represent the fantasy series as the Television Academy barred the prequel show from eligibility this year.

Fret not – neither the show nor the cast has some controversial issues; it’s more of a technical reason. Apparently, the show didn’t make it on time to be able to get a nomination.
House of the DragonDid Not Make It To The Emmy Awards
As per the rules and procedures of theTelevision Academy, all entries for different categories, be it drama, comedy, or reality, must have released a minimum of six episodes by May 31 to qualify for the year’s Emmy Awards.
The second season ofHouse of the Dragonaired its first episode on June 16, which evidently reveals they did not make the cut-off date. The show and its cast members would have earned several nominations, but this will most likely happen in 2025’s event.

It must have been a huge dismay for the fans, as well as the production team, after the hit prequel show missed the deadline, but there’s always a next time. Season 3 is still in its early development as the follow-up series just concluded last August.

The third installment was greenlit by HBO on June 13, just days before the first episode came out. The show has maintained its high viewership despite the several backlashes it received.Ryan Condal, the showrunner, teased fans on what they should expect to see in the upcoming project (viaInside the Episode):
While this season was very much about the fits and starts of an early medieval war, Season 3 is clearly going to be about total war.

Condal stated that production for Season 3 will most likely start in 2025, and he does not want to rush things as he aims to arrive at a satisfying place that would tie up loose ends from Season 2.
Fans will surely be waiting for the Emmys to announce next year’s candidates and they will be expecting names from the cast ofHouse of the Dragonbecause, as controversial as the recently concluded season was, we cannot deny that the actors and actresses did exceptional performances.

House of The DragonDeserves An Emmy Win
LikeGame of Thrones, the prequel show emerged as a game-changer in the history of television. It is quite rare for a show to be followed religiously by viewers, not to mention the characters’ emotional impact on people’s lives.

With the dedication and outstanding delivery of the cast members, they surely deserve a spot at next year’s Emmy Awards. Even the show warrants another nomination – and hopefully a win – for Outstanding Drama Series because of how much effort was put into its creation and execution.
