GTA Online’s Big Summer 2024 Update Looks A Lot Like The Scrapped Cops ‘N’ Crooks Update
This summer’s big update isn’t exactly Cops ‘n’ Crooks, but fans think it’s close enough.
While fans were ecstatic to finally get a look at the next Black Ops game, the community’s tone quickly faltered when it noticed that the Xbox Store page for Black Ops 6 stated that users would need 309GB to download and install the game. But Activision has now clarified that this isn’t the actual size of Black Ops 6.

Activision Clarifies Black Ops 6’s Large File Size
As reported by CharlieIntel on X (formerly Twitter), while Black Ops 6 does have a file size of over 300GB, this includes the entire Call of Duty HQ app. This consists of Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6 pre-order files. “Activision has confirmed that they will be reducing the overall file size once Black Ops 6 launches,” CharlieIntelconfirmed in a new post.
Like most modern Call of Duty games, Black Ops 6 will likely allow users to choose which modes they have installed, which means you will be able to reduce the overall file size even further.

So, while players will need to make the initial room on their consoles, there is likely going to be a drastic decrease in file size once the game is actually released on October 25th.
Activision also confirmed in anew blog postthat it would be making use of texture streaming across all game modes “to deliver the highest-quality visuals while also reducing the game’s overall storage space.” Unfortunately, due to the use of texture streaming, this also means that Black Ops 6 will require a permanent internet connection to play, even if you’re just looking to play the campaign.

More details on all of Black Ops 6’s editions and pre-order bonuses can be found on theofficial Activision website.
