Nintendo Game Vouchersis a system where players can pay a cheaper amount to redeem two games from the Eshop. This is cheaper than buying both games at their full retail price, so it’s great for fans of Nintendo exclusives.

Former Nintendo Artist Hopes 20-year-old Star Fox Game Will Come To Switch 2

Takaya Imamura, a former artist for Nintendo for over three decades is asking Nintendo to bring Star Fox Assault to the Switch 2.

While the list ofcompatible Game Vouchertitles mostly consists of Nintendo games, it does have a few made by third-party studios, including PlatinumGames and Square Enix. It also has most of thePokemongames.

The Game Voucher system is being phased out, as a post on Nintendo’sofficial websitehas confirmed that they cannot be redeemed with Switch 2 exclusives.

Nintendo Game Vouchers Aren’t Cross-Gen

The exact wording says that they “cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system.” This means that titles releasing for both systems should still be redeemable, withMetroid Prime 4andPokemon Legends: Z-Abeing likely candidates.

However, the upcoming next entry in theMario Kartseries that was teased in the first Switch 2 trailer isn’t going to be part of the promotion.

It’s possible that Nintendo is phasing out old promotions to make way for new ones, which would also explain why Gold Pointsare being discontinued.

That being said, there might be technical issues that prevent cross-generational use of Game Vouchers. Hopefully, fans will learn more during the upcoming April 2025Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
