Today’s Xbox Developer_Direct promised a surprise game, and they weren’t kidding.Ninja Gaiden, developed by Team Ninja, is back and looks better than ever.

Ninja Gaiden 4is the latest entry in the “high-speed action series” that is seeing a triumphant return in 2025. Team Ninja is also collaborating with PlatinumGames, best known for their work onBayonettaandNier: Automata, to bring theNinja Gaidenseries to modern audiences that are used to the popularity ofSoulslike games.

While Ryu Hayabusa is featured in the game, a new protagonist, Yakumo, is developedas the main protagonist of Ninja Gaiden 4. While plot details are scarce, we see a glimpse of the two engaging in battle.
