WithThe Game Awardstaking place tomorrow night, many are expecting that Nintendo will come prepared to reveal who the fifth fighter inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate’sFighter’s Pass add-onis set to be. Thanks to some recent activity on one of Nintendo’s officialSmashoutlets, it seems as though this possibility has now become all the more likely.
Within the past few hours, a new video was uploaded to theofficialSuper Smash Bros.YouTube channel. As of now, the video is still set to private, meaning that no one can watch it, but it does seem to validate that Nintendo has made some recent moves behind the scenes. It’s worth noting that the officialSmashchannel has long had two private videos on the channel, but a third one, the video in question here, has now also appeared.
Of course, this move logically infers that Nintendo will soon be publishing a newSuper Smash Bros. Ultimaterelated video on the channel. Given the proximity in which this has happened to The Game Awards, it stands to reason thatSmashcould have a big showing of some sorts tomorrow.
Over the past few months, various “leaks” have come about potentially indicating who the 5th DLC fighter inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatecould be. One such leak added credence to the additions of eitherGeno or Doom Guy, while another went as far to suggest thatMaster Chief from theHaloserieswas a possibility. As for who we’re hoping to see added to the roster, our own Staff Writer Cameron Hawkins iscrossing his fingers to soon see Sorafrom theKingdom Heartsfranchise revealed to be joiningUltimate.
We’ll have to wait to see more tomorrow night to learn if Nintendo is indeed set to reveal the final character inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate’sDLC slate. The Game Awards 2019 are set to kick off at 8:30pm EST/5:30pm PST on December 12.
