There’s no need for any explanation of how big theGod of Warfranchise is. This action-adventure gaming series by Santa Monica Studio first made its debut in the gaming world in 2005. Since then we have seen how the main protagonist of the game has grown to become the father of Atreus, who became a playable character inRagnarok(2022).
After the huge success of this game, a shout for the sequel was quite obvious. And as a result, we are seeing multiple leaks and rumors circling around the potential sequel. Fans have been anticipating for a long time which new feature they could see. However, there is a humoristic feature that the developers should add.
Developers Should Add Dad Jokes in the NextGod of WarGame
Atreus’s story begins when he and his father, Kratos, embark upon his journey to spread his deceased mother’s ashes on the top of the highest peak in all the Nine Realms. He was a deuteragonist inGod of War(2018), but later on became a playable character inGod of War Ragnarok(2022) alongside his father.

Since the beginning of the franchise, Kratos’ character development has been the key feature of this series. Later on, in the last two installments, we got to see how the main protagonist of the franchise went on to make a special bond with his son.
Now, as a dad, Kratos needs dad jokes to make the dark and serious environment a bit lighter. In a recent video on the Polygon YouTube channel, the present voice actor of Kratos, Christopher Judge, came in as the main guest of the show. In that video, we listened to some of the best dad jokes in Kratos’ voice, which were absolutely hilarious.
For example, there was one joke that seemed to be thrown at a crab in Ragnarok in the presence of Atreus:“Why don’t crabs give to charity? Because they are shellfish, boy.”The whole video was filled up with some of the funniest dad jokes, and the deep voice of Kratos made those jokes even more hilarious.
That is why it would be great if Santa Monica put these crazy jokes in the nextGod of Wargame. The next game couldalso include a feature thatGhost of Yoteimight haveas well.
The NextGod of WarGame Will Have a Perfect Stage for Atreus
Even though Kratos had to face his violent past in Valhalla and there were multiple references to the classic games that brought the two series together, by this time he and Atreus had parted ways, creating the possibility of another plotline Santa Monica Studio could explore in a future game. Atreus struggled even more since he thought that all of the Jötnar had passed away and was looking for information that Kratos was unable to provide him.

Atreus discovered later in the game that this was untrue and that his ancestors were not as extinct as he had initially thought, with the possibility of resurrecting his race, from Angrboda, one of the last giants of Jötunheim. When Atreus tells Kratos at the conclusion of the game that he intends to go out and discover the other Giants by himself, Kratos acknowledges his son’s birthright and accepts.
This provides Atreus with a clear path for the future to pursue and, should Angrboda decide to join him on this adventure, may allow their friendship to grow even closer. They got close during God of War Ragnarök.
