With the final season of NBA 2K22 expected to be launching this Friday, Visual Concepts has deployed a brand new patch update for current and next-gen consoles on August 10 to prepare for the release of Season 9.
The next instalment in the NBA 2K series, titled NBA 2K23, will be launching on September 9th. This means support for NBA 2K22 will be coming to an end with the game’s final season later this week. Although the game’s servers will still remain live, no further content is expected to become available as the developers shift their focus to the latest entry into the series.
NBA 2K23 promises to include plenty of gameplay enhancements that elevate the competitive intensity in all facets. The team has improved various aspects in both offensive and defensive gameplay, with a recentcourtside reportdetailing all of the new changes included in NBA 2K23.
However, there’s still one month to go until the release of NBA 2K23 and with the final season of NBA 2K22 arriving later this week, there’s a brand new update for players to download on August 10.

Whether you’re on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or Nintendo Switch, Season 9 is expected to arrive this Friday which means a brand new update is now available to download in preparation for the launch of the new content update.
Visual Concepts are yet to release any detailed patch notes for today’s update, but an announcement is likely to be made later this evening. Alongside confirmation of Season 9, a new courtside report will likely share all of the changes included in today’s patch.
Unfortunately, fans won’t find any changes right away, as the update will include the necessary game files to prepare for the launch of Season 9 this Friday. Any bug fixes, improvements, or new content won’t be available until the new season is officially live.
It was confirmed at the beginning of the NBA 2K22 life cycle that Season 9 would be arriving in August and that it would be the final season for the game, as seen in the roadmap below.
