Yugioh Master Duel, available pretty much on all consoles with cross save, is currently holding a special event, the N/R Festival event. In this time-limited event, duelists can only use decks with Normal to Rare cards. This is an actually pretty popular way of enjoying the TCG, and N/R tournaments and events are organized by theYugiohcommunities around the world IRL. However, many fans believe onlyYugiohboomer fans are having fun with the event, while others are suffering, creating the perfect situation for the birth of internet memes.
Master Duel players are forced back into Yugioh prehistoric age with N/R Festival
The N/R Festival event, which is ending onApril 3, 2022, has made manyYugiohplayers weary, complaining that duels are too long. Needless to say this triggered the birth of many memes parodying the situation, many of which are actively shared on Reddit.
Some players havereportedgoing through duels that were over 60 turns long, jokingly comparing it to the long, but amazing, duels in the anime series. This is aggravated due to the fact that the N/R Festival event does not allow every single N/R card.

Soon after the event launched, an extensive new banlist was published in-game, banning the most broken decks and strategies. This is also one of the reasons why duels are so long, and another source of complaints from the players.

I’ve most notably heard that Gadget decks are particularly viable this time around. Something that definitely gets my blood pumping as aYugiohboomer. Gadgets cards and decks immediately make me remember the final duel between Yugi and Atem.These where pretty cool in theDuel Monstersanime.
