Rudeus' Childhood Arc
Rudeus, a middle-aged shut-in reborn in afantasy world, finds his new life with magical surprises – and not just because he now has a tiny toddler body. As the son of Paul and Zenith Greyrat, he shows early promise in magic. This catches the eye of Roxy Migurdia, a skilled mage who becomes histeacher. Rudeus learns various spells and techniques, eventually surpassing her in magic.
Roxy also helps Rudeus overcome his fear of the outside world due to his past life traumas. After completing her teachings, she leaves to pursue her own journey. Rudeus is now about five years old and saves the shy green-haired Sylphiette from bullies. The two become close friends, and he teaches her magic and reading. Eventually, they make a promise to attend Magic University together and become stronger.
Meeting Eris Greyrat
When Rudeus is seven, Paul receives a request from his cousin, Philip Boreas Greyrat, to him to tutor his daughter, Eris Boreas Greyrat, who is known for her unruly behavior and violent tendencies. Despite his reluctance to leave Sylphy, Rudeus agrees to take up the job. He is soon introduced to theBoreas Greyratfamily. His initial interactions with Eris are rocky, with her trying to assert dominance over Rudeus through violence.
Though, with the help of Ghislaine Dedoldia, a skilled beast-woman warrior and Eris’s bodyguard, Rudeus slowly gains Eris’s trust. He begins teaching her magic, swordsmanship, and etiquette while also learning advanced sword techniques from Ghislaine. During their time together, Rudeus and Eris encounter various challenges and adversaries, such as kidnappers targeting Eris and a group of mercenaries hired to assassinate Rudeus.
The Mana Calamity & Demon Continent
Shortly after this, when he’s ten, Rudeus and his family are caught in a teleportation incident known as the Mana Calamity, whichscatters his family and other people to different parts of the world. Rudeus, now equipped with the knowledge of the world’s language, magic, and swordsmanship, decides to become an adventurer and sets out on a journey with Eris in the Demon Continent.
Along the way, he forms bonds with several people, including Ruijerd Superdia, a member of the fearsome Supard race. However, Ruijerd was definitely not the monster he and his race were stereotyped to be. Rudy, Eris, and Ruijerd eventually form a party (The Dead End) and decide to work together.

In the Demon Continent, they face various hardships, including fighting powerful monsters, dealing with prejudice against Ruijerd’s race, and navigating the treacherous political landscape. They also meet a variety of interesting characters, such as Roxy’s parents and the Migurd tribe, and powerful figures from other factions. Rudeus also helps Ruijerd in his quest to change the negative perception of the Superd race.
The Doldia Village Arc
Their journey takes an interesting turn as the group encounters the Demon Empress Kishirika Kishirisu, a powerful figure in the underworld gifted with the ability to foresee future events. After a series of events, she grants Rudeus one of her eyes. Further along, they save some kidnapped beastmen children from shady smugglers.
However, a misunderstanding arises, and the group is imprisoned. This gets resolved soon, and The Dead End party finds themselves in the village of Doldia, where Eris is thrilled to learn that it’s Ghislaine’s birthplace. Thus, the group spends a major part of the year enjoying the hospitality of the beast race.
Millis Continent Arc
After a lengthy journey, Rudeus and his party finally arrive at the Millis Continent. As they explore this new land, Rudeus is overjoyed to reunite with his family members who were separated following the Mana Calamity. Despite finding his sister Norn and father Paul, he’s still on the lookout for Zenith, Lilia, and his step-sister.
The meeting is initially tense and awkward, as Paul disapproves of Rudeus’s decisions and actions during his time away. They eventually reconcile, and Rudeus learns more about the situation of his family members. With newfound determination, Rudeus’ party set off towards the Central Continent for their next adventure.
Confronting The Dragon God
Rudeus (now aged thirteen) had made it to the Central Continent and lucked out by finding his sister Aisha and step-mom Lilia. Not long after, he found himself face to face with the formidable Dragon God Orsted. After a brief confrontation, thedemi-god reveals that he is interested in Rudeus due to his connection toHitogami. Orsted decides to test him in a fight, which Rudeus ultimately loses.
However, Orsted was surprised to see the magic potential in the kid. So, he healed his wounds and left the group. Eris felt guilty for being so weak. Rudues tried to console her, but it didn’t get any better. Further, along the way, Eris gets to know that her grandfather, the head of the Greyrat family, has been beheaded.

In a surprising scene, she loses her virginity to Rudeus and leaves in the morning. At this point, Ruijerd also parted ways to continue improving the image of his Superd race. Finally, Season 1 ended with a post-credit scene of Sylphy, who is now a student.
