In an interview withGQ, the actor revealed that he had been offered a lot of money to star in the spy thrillerThe Hunt For Red October,directed by John McTiernan at the time.

I love Wyatt, or I just love that movie. We got into a level of competition with Tombstone. A good friend said, ‘Look, we can postpone this movie. We don’t wanna compete’. And I said, ‘I’m sure this writer, director wants to make this movie, let them. And I always regretted that there was this kind of weird competition, and it was a fun movie, Tombstone, but it’s too bad it went the way it went.

Costner recently returned to the Western genre with his latest passion projectHorizon: An American Saga Chapter 1.Unfortunately, the film failed to impress fans and became a box office flop.
