Metahas added theHealth Connect Integration featurefor Android users to automatically sync Meta Quest Move data. This follows a similar integration for iOS devices in 2022, allowing a seamless pairing of your Bluetooth heart rate monitor and real-time viewership of your health and fitness stats.
The Meta Quest Move, formerly Oculus Move, is a Quest headset feature that tracks different activities in VR. This includes the calories you burn, your workout intensity, and the time you take in your moves. The information recorded on this Quest feature is intended for your health apps, as it comes with a detailed breakdown of your health statistics within a given period.

Similarly, Google has an API called Health Connect, which lets users store or share their health and fitness data. The feature also comes in handy when you want to consolidate all your health records in one place and present them chronologically and accurately.
With the latest Meta integration, you may now link the two features and make your VR workouts part of the health and fitness record in Google Fit. You must have Health Connect installed on your phone and the “Connect Move to Meta Quest Mobile App” active to make this work, then head to the Meta Quest phone app and open the Connected Apps option. Here, you’ll need to turn on the “Health Connect by Android” option and ensure you allow Exercise and Active Calories permissions.
Like last year’siOSintegration, this latest Health Connect update applies strict health data privacy policies. According to Meta, the Quest headset will store your Move stats locally and only send them to Meta servers after you sync with the Meta Quest app. The information you choose to share will be end-to-end encrypted. However, it’s worth noting that enabling these APIs means you agree to the terms of conditions and privacy policies set by Google’s Health Connect and other third-party apps you connect.
“You’re always in control of your data. It’s entirely up to you where and when you choose to share your VR fitness achievements," Meta’s Website explains. “That means your Meta Quest Move stats will never be shared on Facebook, Instagram, or Messenger unless you choose to do so. However, fitness data you choose to share with Apple via Apple Health or Google via Health Connect by Android is subject to their terms and privacy policies. Doing so is entirely opt-in, so you get to choose if you want to connect Meta Quest Move to the Meta Quest mobile app and from there to either Apple Health or Health Connect by Android.”
