Single-player mode for the strategic card gameMarvel Snaphas been requested by players for a while, but unfortunately, developer Second Dinner is unsure about introducing the mode as soon as expected.
Speaking toIGN, Ben Brode, the creator of Marvel Snap, stated that the development team is still thinking about whether it will be able to create a fun mode considering Marvel Snap mainly focuses on multiplayer. “I don’t know. I guess I would say we haven’t done enough thinking about what that might look like to know for sure whether or not we’d be able to do something that’d be really fun in that space.” Ben also thinks Marvel Snap sets itself apart from other card games, revolving around mind games and requiring players to imagine their opponent’s next move.

It was also claimed that Second Dinner has plans to create new modes: “I do think there’s a lot of room for new modes. We have a lot of cool ideas for new game modes that are multiplayer modes, but I don’t know about single-player.” The developers appear to have decided against creating a single-player mode in favor of improving multiplayer. In addition, Second Dinner may believe that single-player won’t be successful given the competitive nature of card games. “I don’t know. The game is very different than other card games, right? And so a lot of the fun of the game is the mind games and trying to kind of imagine what your opponent might do next. " Ben described the base premise of Marvel Snap.
Even though gamers have requested it, a single-player mode won’t necessarily be enjoyable, as it works differently from multiplayer. In case you missed it, Second Dinner has released aroadmapfor the Marvel-themed card game, including a ton of new content coming to the game in the future. PC widescreen UI, unranked mode, a new titles system, and collector tokens will be added to the game, while a new competitive mode, guild and social systems, in-game events, collective emotes, and mythic variants of superheroes are currently in concept status.
Last but not least, a spokesperson told The Washington Post thatMarvel Snap is adding a PVP mode, which allows players to take on friends. It works differently from ranked mode, which matches random players to compete against each other in a series of games. Marvel Snap is available on PC, IOS, and Android devices.
