Marvel Snap: Best Pixie Decks

If you’re trying to find the best Marvel Snap deck for Pixie’s chaotic Ability, this guide has you covered!

Galactus is one of Marvel Snap’s “Big Bads,” which means he is locked-in as a Series 5 card and will never be lowered. This is because his ability can be a bit overpowered, or at least that was the case before his 2023 patch that severely decreased his destructive capability. Finding the best deck for a card like Galactus can be tricky, but this guide can help!

Best Galactus Decks

Galactus' ability states “On Reveal: If you’re winning this location and this is your only card here, destroy all other locations.” This means that if the conditions are met (1. He is your only card in this lane & 2. You are winning the lane when he is played) he will destroy the other two lanes no matter what cards are played there. This is a phenomenally powerful ability that has game-changing effects. When Galactus is successfully played, the game becomes his. It is all about countering or overpowering him if the opponent hopes to win.

Since Galactus' ability is so powerful, most decks that include him are built specifically around him. By nature, he is the centerpiece of any deck he sits in. This makes it a bit tricky to find decks that work well with him and synergies make or break gameplay. The ideal strategy to playing the world destroyer correctly is making sure he is winning the lane where he is played and making sure he is alone in the lane. There are many cards that work well with Galactus, so accomplishing this is easier than one would expect.

Galactus Ramp Deck

This deck focuses on increasing Max Energy withElectroorPsylocketo play Galactus on turn five. Doing this will give players an additional turn to make an impactful move on turn six. Once Electro is played, players will get an additional Max Energy per turn, but will have to deal with Electro’s Ongoing ability which restricts the player to only playing one card per turn. This downside can be mitigated usingCarnageorVenomto destroy Electro, which will stop his Ongoing ability while still keeping the additional Max Energy in place. While this is the ideal win condition, players won’t necessarily draw Electro early enough to make his placement worth it. If this happens, there are plenty of fallbacks.

Magikcan be used to add an additional turn to the game, giving players more time to throw down the destroyer of worlds.Green GoblinandHobgoblincan be used to lower the opponent’s total Power in the lane where Galactus will be played.Nimrodis a great pre-Galactus play, because when he destroys the other two lanes, Nimrod will duplicate into Galactus' lane and boost its Power.AliothandDeathare the best cards to play after Galactus, because if his ability is triggered the players who placed him will likely have priority. This means that Alioth will be able to destroy the opponent’s card before it is even revealed. Death will have her cost lowered for every card Galactus (or Carnage and Venom) manages to destroy. Players can make a devastating final turn play using these cards!

Galactus Annihilus Deck

Galactus has to conditions he must meet before his ability is executed. This deck focuses on accomplishing one of these conditions so players can successfully execute Galactus' ability and destroy the other two lanes. This will be accomplished by usingAnnihilusto throw low-Power cards to the opponent’s side of the board, resulting in Galactus easily winning the lane where he is played.

Annihilus will move all cards with Power lower than zero to the opponent’s side of the board. This means players can throw downSentryon turn four, boot the Void (a -10-Power card) to the opponent’s side of the board on turn five using Annihilus, and then finish up with Galactus on turn six. If players use cards likeGreen Goblin,Hobgoblin, andBlack Widow, they can lower the Power in any lane they desire and successfully execute Galactus' ability.Magikis a great card that will give players an additional turn in the game.NimrodandWolverinecan jump to Galactus' lane when his ability happens.AliothandDeathare great follow-ups for Galactus and can ensure a victory!

Galactus Destroy Deck

This deck focuses on executing a Galactus play and then following-up with cards likeKnull,Alioth, and/orDeathto win the sole lane left standing. This deck is great, because it is a pretty traditional “destroy deck” minus the inclusion of Galactus. This means, if players are unable to successfully play Galactus, there is always a fallback of Knull, Death, and Alioth.Nimrodis great with or without Galactus thanks to the cards in the deck capable of destroying it likeVenomandCarnage.Magikis always great since she adds an additional turn to the game.X-23can be used to increase the Max Energy of the turn following her destruction and if players time this strategically, it can result in a turn five Galactus play!

Best Galactus Synergies

Galactus synergizes with many different cards, but the categories that these synergies fall into can be chalked up topre-Galactus plays,post-Galactus plays, lane controllers, andenergy increasers. More info on each can be found below!

Pre-Galactus Plays

These cards are ones that players should focus on playing before Galactus makes his large enterance.NimrodandWolverine, when placed before Galactus, can jump to his lane, ensuring some substantial Power in the remaining lane after Galactus destroys the other two! This is great at ensuring the Galactus-player has turn priority (if there is still another turn left in the game) or wins the game with the hefty Power shift in a single turn.

HobgoblinandGreen Goblinare essentials in a Galactus deck because they can make sure Galactus wins the lane where he is play by lowering the opponent’s Power in that lane.Magikis always smart and can really fit in most high-strategy decks as it gives players an additional turn to execute their strategy.

Post-Galactus Plays

These cards are perfect for playing after Galactus. This only really comes into play when players manage to get Galactus on the board before the game’s final turn but this should be every Galactus player’s goal and happens far more often than one would assume.

Deathwill have her cost lowered massively when Galactus is played (sometimes all the way to zero) since he destroys two whole lanes and all cards played there.Knullcan soak up all the Power from those destroyed cards, andAlioth(if players have turn priority) can eliminate whatever card the opponent plays on the final turn.

Lane Controllers

These cards help Galactus players control the lanes in a game, whether it is by force (like withJean GreyandStorm), by incentivizing the opponent’s play (like withNebula), or by predicting the opponent’s plays entirely (like withDaredevil). All of these cards can be assets in their own right when included in a Galactus deck and are great inclusions!

Energy Increasers

These cards (Corvus Glaive,X-23,Electro, andHope Summers) all increase the Max Energy of the player using them. This is essential for players hoping to get Galactus on the board before turn six. The longer players wait to play Galactus, the more chance exists that Galactus' requirements (winning the lane and being the sole card played there) will not be met.

Best Galactus Counters

Galactus can be countered one of two ways, either by another card being added to the lane where he is played (or the lane where players intend on playing him), or by having the opponent win the lane where he is played. Cards that the opponent can send into your lanes includeGreen Goblin,Hobgoblin, or a card sent over byViperorAnnihilus.Debriican also spread rocks in two lanes on each players side of the board, so she can also cause some substantial trouble for Galactus decks.

If Galactus is played in a lane where he is losing, his ability will not be triggered. This means, any card(s) that has a Power higher than fivewill outpace Galactus and cause him to fail at destroying the other two lanes. Because of the conditions that Galactus must meet to execute his ability, there aren’t many ways to counter the counters. If players run into a situation where Galactus is unplayable and there is no backup plan, they should retreat immediately.

How To Get Galactus

Galactus can be obtained one of two ways. Players canspend Tokensin theToken Shopor they canuse Spotlight Keyswhen Galactus is featured in theSpotlight Cache. Since Galactus is a Series 5 card, it will cost5,000 Tokensin the Token Shop. This is a hefty price, but because Galactus is a “Big Bad,” he will never be featured in a Series Drop and this cost will never go down. Players that wish to obtain him via the Token Shop should wait until he appears in the Series 4/5 section of the Shop and then pin him until they have enough Tokens.

The alternative method of obtaining Galactus involves spending Spotlight Keys whenever he is featured in the Spotlight Cache. The Cache changes the feature card(s) every week, so players will need to save up enough Keys and then spend them during a week where Galactus is a featured card. This can take some time as Galactus is not included in the Spotlight Caches very often.
