Best Mockingbird Decks
Mockingbird’s ability says “Costs 1 less for each card you have in play that didn’t start in your deck.” This means that players will get the most out of this card if they have other cards on the board that didn’t originally start in their deck. This can include cards that spawn more cards onto the board (likeSquirrel Girl,Brood,Debrii, etc.) or cards that add new cards to the hand (likeSentinel,Snowguard,Moon Girl, etc.). Getting these additional cards onto the board is key to Mockingbird’s success, as they must be in play to lower her Cost.
Mockingbird is a great card in decks that already rely on spawning new cards or duplicating cards into the hand, like Loki decks or Patriot decks!
Costs 1 less for each card you have in play that didn’t start in your deck.
Mockingbird Patriot Deck
This deck centers on support cards raising the Power of other cards on the board.Ka-Zarwill boost 1-Cost cards (Squirrel Girl’sSquirrelsor Ultron’sBots),Patriotwill boost the Power of cards with no abilities (Brood’sBroodlings, Ultron’sBots, Squirrel Girl’sSquirrels, Debrii’sRocks, or Sinister’sclone), andBlue Marvelwill boost all cards on the board.Mystiquecan be used to duplicate any of those cards' Ongoing abilities.
Mockingbird will really benefit here because the no-ability cards that get a Power-boost from Patriot’s ability typically don’t start in a deck. So, for each card spawned onto the board, Mockingbird’s Cost will go down! Cards players should get down on the board as soon as possible to lower Mokcingbird’s cost includeMister Sinister,Squirrel Girl,Brood, orDebrii.Ultronwill also spawn these no-ability cards, but since he is a six-Cost card players likely won’t be able to rely on his spawns to lower Mockingbird’s Cost.

Mockingbird Loki Deck

This deck focuses on getting as many 1-Cost cards on the board as possible and then boosting their Power withKa-ZarandBlue Marvel.Mystiquecould also be subbed into this deck for an additional support card! Best Mockingbird Counters
Mockingbird is sitting pretty when it comes to counters! Because she is not an On Reveal card,Cosmoand his effects won’t be a problem.Enchantressposes no threat to Mockingbird because she does not have Ongoing abilities. EvenShang-Chiloses the ability to disrupt Mockingbird’s gameplay because she falls just below the Power threshold needed for Shang-Chi to destroy the card. When you’re playing Mockingbird, there aren’t really any counters. The main focus should just be lowering her Cost to get her on the board!
Best Mockingbird Synergies
Mockingbird synergizes with any card that adds new cards to your hand or to the board. The cards that spawn new ones on the board are ones likeSquirrel Girl,Brood,Debrii,Doctor Doom,Ultron, andMister Sinister. Doctor Doom and Ultron are 6-Cost cards, so they likely won’t be played early enough to help Mockingbird, but their effects do synergize well.
She also synergizes with cards that at new ones to your hand likeLoki,Sentinel,Moon Girl,Snowguard, orMirage. These cards need to go through an extra step compared to the ones listed above. These cards add their new cards to the hand, which means they will still need to be placed on the board to be considered “in play” and lower Mockingbird’s Cost.
Is Mockingbird Worth It?
Mockingbird will join the Marvel Snap lineup as a Series 5 card. This means she will cost6,000 Tokens in the Token Shop. Players will also be able to get their hands on her in theSpotlight Cache using Spotlight Keys, where she will be joined by Man-Thing and Ghost-Spider (spotlight variantsshown in the image above).
We recommendwaiting to grab Mockingbird. While she enters the game as a Series 5 card, she will likely be featured in a Series Drop at a later date. Furthermore, Mockingbird is a powerful card with very few (if any) counters, but she is unlikely to have a large impact on the game’s current meta and can be outpaced by some of the more relevant decks. For this reason, it’s best to save your Spotlight Keys and Tokens for another card debut!
