True to their word, NetEase is about to launch another new hero as part of Season 2 ofMarvel Rivals! The mid-season update, which most players are referring to as Marvel Rivals update 2.5, will be released next week on May 30.
The major new addition of the patch is Ultron, a character whose existence wasleakedmonths ago.
Marvel Rivals Mid-Season 2.5 Update Brings Ultron And New Team-Ups
In the press release sent out by NetEase, it mentioned some of the key features the mid-season update will bring outside of Ultron, and these are new Team-Up abilities.
Ultron (Strategist)- The pinnacle of artificial lifeforms, Ultron is programmed to learn and adapt in ways far beyond human capability. He can summon an army of automated drones that obey his every command, raising his chances of victory exponentially.
After the Hellfire Gala was crashed by Ultron’s surprise attack, the mutants of Krakoa faced some of their toughest days yet. Now, Ultron has stolen their Cerebro, evolved into something even more formidable, X-Tron, and retreated to his new stronghold: Arakko. Once Krakoa’s sister island, Arakko has lost all its vitality, transformed by Ultron into a cold, merciless mechanical world. But the fight isn’t over. Our heroes, regrouping after their setback, must now join forces with Krakoa to save Arakko.
New Team-Up Abilities - Broaer adjustments to team-ups are being implemented in Season 2.5. Not only that, but there will be six new Team-Up abilities added, while four will be removed. By Season 2.5, NetEase states that there have bee more than 50% of Team-Up abilities that have changed compared to Season 0. By popular community demand, NetEase is adding the Jeff-nado Team-Up ability as part of the patch roll out.
Marvel’s Wolverine Devs Clap Back At Gamer Pestering Them For Development Update
Insomniac Games confirms they are still actively working on Marvel’s Wolverine.
Alongside the new Team-Ups and hero, the mid-season patch will also see the launch of a new feature that showcases hero proficiency avatars on the match hero select wheel. There will also be two new personalization systems that will be introduced in the form of “Mood” and “Emojis.”
While the mid-season update isn’t even out yet, NetEase already has a new limited-time event set for June 6, which is a new limited-time experimental mode called Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol. In the mode, six players can choose their own hero lineups, craft unique builds and enhance their heroes' traits. Once set, they can then battle other players. This is an experimental mode, which the development team attempts “to fulfill players’ fantasies of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains.”
There will also be hero balance adjustments on the way, with details about it to be shared soon.
In other Marvel Rivals news,a new patch was released today, and this gave an uplift to the in-game store ahead of the Season 2.5 patch.
