The next Thor adventure is allegedly being developed at Marvel Studios, and there is a list of things that the film needs to do to meet the audience’s expectations. To begin with, Chris Hemsworth has made it clear that he wants a new direction for the character, with fans, too, clamoring for a darker take on the God of Thunder, something more akin to his comic book roots.
Next, there are a few characters that need to show up in the MCU, ones that have been an integral or popular part of Thor’s comic book mythos, such as Beta Ray Bill. Hercules has also been a fan favorite part of Thor’s comics mythology and has been introduced in the MCU as an antagonist to Thor. Thor 5 is going to have to build up on a lot that the previous films offered, while also giving the fans what they want from the franchise.

The idea is to adapt some version ofThe War of the Realmsstoryline but focus on pantheons and how they function on Earth. This would see Hercules face off with Thor and Thor come into his role as the Allfather of his pantheon, a part of his story that still remains untouched in film. As for how Loki could get involved, Reddit suggests that the character could help Thor in figuring out what kind of go he wanted to be.
The idea is to have Loki come and assist Thor in his time of need, not only hunting the brothers again but also bringing Thor into the narrative of the Multiverse, from which he has been largely detached. Further, Loki could also resolve the issues that Thor still has unprocessed, such as the fact that the character is still not over the trauma of losing his loved ones again and again, which, while addressed in the films, is never resolved.

Given that Beta Ray Bill’s arc from the comics would be mellowed in the films, the character could serve as a stand-in for Thor in New Asgard, which has become the home of multiple alien races from across the Nine Realms and other Cosmic populations. This could include a small community of Corbinites, from where Beta Ray Bill could hail.
Beta Ray Bill could take up the job of defending Midgard, which could play into him interacting with characters like the Fantastic Four and Galactus, who are soon to be part of the MCU.
