Kimiyoshi Yoshioka’s Temple (てんぷる, TenPuru: No One Can Live on Loneliness) manga isgetting a TV anime this year. Along with the announcement of the series, theofficial website, main cast, staff, first key visual, and first promotional video have also been released.

The main cast announcements include Masayuki Akasaka as Akimitsu Akagami, Aimi as Yuzuki Aoba, Yu Serizawa as Tsukuyo Aoba, Nanami Yamashita as Kurage Aoba, Makura Asahina as Mia Christoff, and Kagura Baldwin as Sumire Uesaka.

Akimitsu Akagami’s father always told him that “no one can live alone,” but Akimitsu is determined to do it so he doesn’t end up anything like his father. However, after an encounter with a girl leaves Akimistu with thoughts that are too impure, he makes up his mind to do the totally sane thing anyone would do - become a Buddhist monk. He must give up the sinful ways of the world. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for us, the temple Akimitsu joins is full of females, including the one that drove him to make this decision in the first place.

The trailer is a brief, but glorious 37 seconds. Just enough time to introduce us to the plot and the characters. Kazuomi Omi will be directing the series with the anime production being done by Gekkō. Masato Katsumata is in charge of character design and the series composition is by Hahei Kashii.

Although it seems like a lot of information has been released on the day of theTV animeannouncement, there is still no official release date. The only timeline so far is “2023”. Keep an eye out for a release date and the platforms that will stream the anime.

TenPuru: No One Can Live on Loneliness, written and illustrated by Kimiyoshi Yoshioka, has been digitally serialized in Kodansha’s Comic Days since September 2018. Kodansha has collected the chapters and made them into tankōbon volumes, with the first volume released on June 09, 2025.

Currently, there are seven volumes and the eighth volume will be released on January 23. Additionally, BookWalker Global partnered with Kodansha USA to release the manga in English, and the first two volumes were released digitally in English in July 2020.
