The underdog of the Big Three anime series,Bleach, by Tite Kubo, is known to be one of the greatest anime and manga series of all time. The series has not only inspired many other mangakas but has also been referenced in their works. The biggest example of this isJujutsu Kaisenby Gege Akutami.

Akutami has always expressed their admiration for Kubo and how his work influenced a major aspect ofJujutsu Kaisen. However,Jujutsu Kaisenfans don’t seem to understand the impact Kubo had on their favorite series. In fact, they have even blamed Kubo for copying an important concept fromJujutsu Kaisenfor his upcomingBleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’sthird cour.
Fans think Kubo has used Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine to create the Bankai of Ichibē Hyōsube, the commanding officer of the Royal Guard. But fans seem to forget thatBleachwas completed in 2016 and Hyōsube’s Bankai was already created by then. Thus, it would make more sense that Akutami used Hyōsube’s Bankai as a reference for Sukuna’s Domain Expansion.

Jujutsu KaisenFans Are In Over Their Heads
The creators ofBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warhave recently revealed that the series will be released in October 2024. In celebration of this, a preview of the upcoming series was released on the official YouTube channel.
This preview gave a glimpse of many intriguing aspects of the upcoming series, including a hint at Ichibē Hyōsube’s Futen Taisatsuryō.

Jujutsu Kaisen Went in the Opposite Direction of Bleach as One of the Reasons Why It’s the Most Popular Anime in the World
Futen Taisatsuryō can be deemed as Hyōsube’s Bankai and is assumed to be extremely powerful considering Hyōsube’s status as the commanding officer of the Royal Guard. However, Futen Taisatsuryō is a technique that possibly uses a shrine that looks a lot like Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine fromJujutsu Kaisen.
Thus,Jujutsu Kaisenfans decided to targetTite Kubofor copying the concept of a shrine from Sukuna without even understanding the fact thatBleachhad been completed long beforeJujutsu Kaiseneven came out. On top of that, it has already been establishedthat the concept of Domain Expansion was inspiredby the Bankai ability fromBleach.

The Similarities Between Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine and Ichibē Hyōsube’s Futen Taisatsuryō
WhileJujutsu Kaisenfans have been falselyaccusing Kubo of copyinga concept that he created, they need to understand that the two abilities are entirely different and the only similarity between the two is the shrine that looks alike. Aside from that, Malevolent Shrine and Futen Taisatsuryō have nothing in common.
Hyōsube’s Futen Taisatsuryō is the rarest Bankai inBleach.Although Ichibē never got a chance to use it completely, he explained how it works. The technique brings out the Magnificent Death Mausoleum, which takes away all of the darkness from his opponent, giving them the ultimate death.

Tite Kubo Put His Foot Down Over 1 Detail in a Key Bleach Episode That Was Planned to Be Deleted
On the other hand, Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine has the ability to slash its target with the help of cursed energy. These slashes are a guaranteed hit, and they don’t stop until Sukuna wants to. It is one of the strongest Domains inJujutsu Kaisen, but there is no way Kubo would have copied it.
BleachandJujutsu Kaisenare available to watch on Crunchyroll.
