David Leitch, the director on the project who also has been a seaosned stunt man for years along with stunt coordinator Chris O’Hara, meticulously planned every sequence of the stunts together. In aVultureinterview, O’Hara said,

“At that point in development, there’s really nothing that’s off-limits,–You attempt to go big–One of the greatest compliments we got was when the visual-effects supervisor said, ‘I don’t know why I’m here!’ A lot of the things he thought he was going to have to do he didn’t have to do.”
And they definaly went big! Cramming possibly every stunt imaginable into this movie. So much so that the film broke the Guinness World Record for the most cannon rolls in a car captured on camera in a motion picture, achieving a staggering eight and a half rolls!

“It helped me to understand exactly on some small level what [stunt workers] do every day,”
It was indeed David Leitch’s heartfelt homage tothe art of stunts. When discussing the authenticity and journey to reaching this milestone, he elaborated on his view during aVanity Fairinterview session. He said,
“Obviously in modern cinema we have the use of CGI, and we use it liberally,–But when we’re making a love letter to stunts and the blue-collar crews that make these movies come to life, we explored doing old-school high falls into airbags, and jumping a car as far as we could, and rolling a car as many times as we could.”
The film has been performing exceptionally well on Rotten Tomatoes, boasting a solid 95% rating, and reviews glowing with praise. Fans literally can’t wait to experience this in the theaters.
The Fall Guyis set to release on May 3rd.
