Naturally, there is a lot of hype and anticipation considering the pedigree of the filmmaker.

I’ve lived in L.A. for 20 years, and I also find it head-scratching, but just by virtue of living here for two decades, I’m more used to it, and of course, a little bit more jaded by it. But Fernando was like a kid.”

Farrell thinks L.A. is the perfect setting for a character like Sugar to explore since he describes the detective as “a keen observer of human behavior.”
