Brad Pitt can be the one-stop actor for any director. Whether it be a full-action-packed movie or a classic rom-com, the actor can do it all. Now presenting himself in a new light and in a new genre of movie titled F1, the actor is set to break barriers yet again. However, Lewis Hamilton also plays a significant role in this regard.

Hamilton, a seven-time F1 World Champion, is a man of many skills. From fashion to production with his Dawn Apollo Films, the F1 driver demonstrates time and again that his talent is not just limited to the race circuits, a fact that even the makers of the impending Brad Pitt movie acknowledge.
What role did Lewis Hamilton play in the production of Brad Pitt’s upcomingF1movie?
F1is an upcoming movie created under the vision ofTop Gun: Maverick’sby Joseph Kosinski, starringBrad Pittin the lead. The first teaser for the same was released on July 8th, immediately before the British Grand Prix (2024). In the movie, Pitt portrays the role of a Formula One driver (fictional) who, after a horrible car crash in the 1990s, takes retirement.
However, life had other plans, and his friend Ruben (Javier Bardem), the owner of the APXGP (fictional), calls him up to come out of retirement to train his rookie phenom Joshua Pearce (Damon Idris). Not only that, but the film has a strong F1 influence, with Lewis Hamilton reportedly making a cameo appearance and being highly involved in the scripts.

Despite its Thrilling Scenes, Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ Film Still Won’t Beat Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun 2’ in One Aspect That Made the Latter Legendary
Interestingly, Hamilton, in addition to being one of the film’s producers through Dawn Apollo Films, was the one who got the filmmakers in touch with Mercedes. In an interview withDeadline, Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer explained how Lewis Hamilton was involved in the upcomingF1movie. Kosinski added:
It really starts with Lewis. From Lewis, we got to Mercedes, from Mercedes, we got the car; if you approach it the right way it’s not as difficult as you think. We’ve met with all the drivers to tell them what we were doing. We met with just about everybody in Formula 1.

While still not a lot is known about Hamilton’s supposed role in the movie, what’s interesting to note (viaAuto Express) is that in addition to Hamilton, other F1 pros such as Max Verstappen and former motorsport engineer and F1 manager Gunther Steiner are rumored to be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming movie.
The truth behind F1’s $300 million budget
The movie is still far away from release; however, this didn’t stop the media mongers from starting to report on theexpected budgetof the movie. The same situation took place when Pitt’s highly anticipated movie was reported to have a budget as high as $300 million, making it one of the most expensive productions ever.
However, in the same interview withDeadline, Jerry Bruckheimer denied the claims and indicated that the alleged budget making the rounds in the media is actually larger than the true one. Furthermore, the financial assistance they received in the form of refunds and incentives from filming venues helped to minimize the entire cost of production. Bruckheimer added:

The producer also stated that he cannot reveal the correct budget for the film because it’s“Apple’s money”and only they can discuss it. However, he can inform the audience that the official budget is significantly lower than previously indicated.
“You know, that would have been fun”: Tom Cruise Was Genuinely Surprised One of His Most Iconic Movies Didn’t Get a Sequel That Started His Brad Pitt Rivalry
During this debate, Joseph Kosinski stated that the reported budget is significantly lower than the actual one, and he does not understand where this figure originated from in the first place.
Brad Pitt’sF1is set for a global release on June 10, 2025.
