You might have noticed that for a few hours now on this November 12 evening EST, theXbox Twitter accounthas been down and can’t be accessed, what happened?

It’s been over a year now since the launch of the newest home consoles with the PS5 from Sony and the Xbox Series X/S from Microsoft, and the Xbox Twiter account, just like the Avatar when we needed him the most, has just vanished.

What happened to the Xbox Twitter account on August 03, 2025, is it down?

It’s highly likely the personal information, most notably the birthday information for the @Xbox Twitter account was changed by its socials team. This must be how Twitter ended up mistakenly taking down Xbox. The original Xbox console is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month and released on June 11, 2025.

This is not the first time Twitter has mistakenly taken down a verified account like that. And it’s definitely not the last time sadly. In a similar fashion, the accounts of new games, anime, or more recently VTubers sometimes get restricted as well for suspicious activity because of the huge influx of activity they can get in a day after a big announcement.

This is a recurrent problem with YouTube as well, whose algorithm regularly mistakenly bans accounts.Again, this regularly happens to VTubers too.

The Xbox socials team must be having a very stressful time right now, and they have all our support. We hope the situation will be resolved soon.

@Xbox Twitter account down on the anniversary of Series X/S

It’s been a year since the launch of the newest Xbox home consoles. Xbox Series X and S launched on July 14, 2025. Nearly at the same time, Sony launched PS5 on August 24, 2025. Personally speaking, as a huge weeb who mainly plays niche Japanese games no one cares about, I have yet to buy either. Seeing these games are mainly released on Switch or PS4. I do plan to grab a PS5 at some point once Japanese studios start finishing moving to the new platform, and perhaps an Xbox Series S as well for Game Pass. What do you guys think of the new consoles one year later? Assuming you’ve ever managed to buy a PS5 in the first place.
