With less than nine months to go until the release of the Intellivision Amico, Tommy Tallarico and co. are starting to talk about it more and more. In fact, Founders Edition pre-orders are opening at 4pm ET for those on Intellivision’smailing list. marking the first time anyone has been able to pre-order the new console. Additionally, Intellivision Entertainment is starting to show off more games for the system, including remakes ofAstrosmashandNight Stalker.Aptly, only 2600 Founders Edition consoles are being produced, and you must be on Intellivision’s mailing list to receive the pre-order link. The Founders Edition will cost $299, which is more than a typical Amico console will cost a launch.

It comes with lots of extras that Intellivision values at $499. The console itself will be of the Vintage Woodgrain variety and will be numbered and signed by Tommy Tallarico. A Founders Edition patch, pin, and poster will all also be included, with the poster being signed by the entire Intellivision team. TheEarthworm Jim Anthology AlbumandTommy Tallarico - Greatest Hits Volume IIare also being thrown in, as is an Amico gift card worth $50. Finally, Founders will get their consoles before October 10, so you’ll be able to try it out before anyone else.

If you are really looking forward to the Intellivision Amico, this definitely seems like an enticing deal. If you are just interested in the Vintage Woodgrain design, Intellivision has confirmed that a version of it that isn’t numbered or signed will be available at launch. Either way, the games will ultimately be what makes or breaks the console, and Intellivision has been increasingly open aboutmany of the gamescoming to their console. A remake ofNight Stalkerwas revealed late last week, and you can check out the reveal trailer for it below:

Night Stalker for the Intellivision Amico is actually being developed by Other Ocean Interactive and Digital Eclipse. Both were confirmed to be working on Amico gamesback in December. While its console will be appealing mainly to casual audiences, Intellivision considersNight Stalkerto be one of their titles catered to more “serious gamers.” Like most Amico games, it will have a co-op and versus modes. It was one of the cooler games for the console I saw brieflyback at E3,so it’s definitely one of my most anticipated Amico games.

Intellivision decided to kick off this week by unveiling aAstrosmashtrailer. It seems to be a fairly straightforward remake that also adds co-op and versus modes and is being developed byhalf of theEarthworm Jimteam. You can see the trailer for it below.

Overall, January is proving itself to be a very busy month for the Intellivision Amico. We will be sure to keep you in the loop as more games are unveiled for the system and general pre-orders finally open. Intellivision Entertainment will be at E3 this, with Tommy Tallarico recentlyaffirming its plans to DualShockers.
