“I can speak a little bit to the Wild West with Wonder Woman section, since I think I pitched that part. And I always liked that I hadn’t seen that before. I wanted to do Wonder Woman as Clint Eastwood – a Clintina Eastwood – a woman with no name comes into town and sees the corruption. Even though she has amnesia, like our other leads of the Trinity of Justice League, she has an innate sense of justice. And that doesn’t go away, even though she doesn’t know exactly who she is.”
Although done before in comics, this fusion of Wonder Woman with the Wild West not only added a unique flavor to the film but also sparked a newfound appreciation for the character. “And it was great, because when Jim called us up and said, “Hey, we’re going to do this thing, could you come over?” we started talking about the genres involved and different little silos of stories that we could tell to get to the overarching story. It was just kind of a new original take on how to get to it”
To ruin the rest of the mystery, Bruce Wayne finds himself as a rugged barbarian whereas, Clark Kent finds himself entangled in a 1950s noir narrative, confronting societal anxieties about extraterrestrial beings. Together, these unique twists blend together into an interesting and fun watch.
