Talking about the process of making the show, Nolan revealed that he went to his other brother,Christopher Nolan, for guidance.

Both directors were working on projects surrounding nuclear explosions, with the former working on the show that follows a post-nuclear war apocalypse, and the latter working onOppenheimer.The Fallout director revealed that the pair have always compared notes when they are working on something, trying to get an unbiased opinion to make sure what they are creating is worthwhile.

Even though they have both dabbled in all kinds of genres, comedy has never been a part of it. While there are some jokes here and there, movies likeOppenheimerand shows likePerson of Interestcannot be put in the category of comedy.

“I think it was really important for me to get his input after [filming] on the cut because of the tone. This is the closest that I’ve come to working on — or that I think either of us have worked on — to a comedy.”

The reason for their dedication to keeping the comedy in was the source material. TheFalloutgames are famously hilarious, and fans would have certainly been upset if such a significant element was missing from the adaptation.
