During a recent interview, Nolan revealed that he and his Oscar-winning brother would frequently talk about the series with each other, even though they were doing something they had never done before.

Recently,Jonathan Nolangave an interview withForbes,where he went into great detail about his recently released series,Fallout.The show has been getting a lot of attention, not only because it broke the video game adaptation curse but also because it stole the audience’s attention in every way possible. Talking about the process of making the show, Nolan revealed that he went to his other brother,Christopher Nolan, for guidance.
Both directors were working on projects surrounding nuclear explosions, with the former working on the show that follows a post-nuclear war apocalypse, and the latter working onOppenheimer.The Fallout director revealed that the pair have always compared notes when they are working on something, trying to get an unbiased opinion to make sure what they are creating is worthwhile.
“There never has been anything that either of us have worked on that we haven’t shown each other and talked about,”Jonathan Nolan said. “I think getting a gut check from him is an essential part of any project that I’m working on.”

Nolan added that it makes sure what they are making is grounded. This is not surprising considering just how talented both brothers are.

When they were trying to figure out their approach toFallout,however, they were both in uncharted territory.
Even though they have both dabbled in all kinds of genres, comedy has never been a part of it. While there are some jokes here and there, movies likeOppenheimerand shows likePerson of Interestcannot be put in the category of comedy.

“I think it was really important for me to get his input after [filming] on the cut because of the tone. This is the closest that I’ve come to working on — or that I think either of us have worked on — to a comedy.”
Speaking on this, Nolan revealed that this was an interesting challenge for them and something they welcomed with open arms. The reason for their dedication to keeping the comedy in was the source material. TheFalloutgames are famously hilarious, and fans would have certainly been upset if such a significant element was missing from the adaptation.
