We askedAnthony Mackieabout his background with the video game franchise before he got the offer to be in the show. Mackie said that he grew up playing the games but added that he wasn’t very good at them. He said that he has played thousands of times but has not managed to win any games so far. Here’s what he said:

I just really sucked at it. I have actually never won a battle in Twisted Metal and I’ve played it probably a thousand times and every single time I lose. So, that’s my background with Twisted Metal, but the game is so different to the show.

A Video Game in the Series Was Recently Cancelled by Sony

Back in 2022, it was reported that aTwisted Metallive-service reboot game was in development at UK studio Firesprite, as Sony wanted to bring back the franchise with the TV show. There was no information about the unannounced game after that, as it was only in early development and wasn’t fully green-lit.

A new report said last month that the game had been canceled due to the PlayStation Studios layoff. Sony announced layoffs at PlayStation Studios as part of a restructuring process, affecting several studios, including Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Firesprit, and others.
